CRANSTON — Emma Jane Woodhouse, age 89, passed away peacefully on November 11, 2022.
Born December 11, 1932 in Elmira, New York, to Roy and Viola Smith, Jane lived for many years in New Canaan, Connecticut, before moving to Cranston, Rhode Island.
She was predeceased by her husband, Edward J. Woodhouse of Elmira, New York and New Canaan, Connecticut.
She is survived by her five children, Edward Woodhouse, Jr. and his wife Laurie of Wake Forest, North Carolina; Rev. Thomas Woodhouse of Cranston; Mary Woodhouse Parisi and her husband Francis of Cranston; James Woodhouse and his wife Susan of Windermere, Florida; and Christopher Woodhouse of Cranston, as well as her nine grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated for Mrs. Woodhouse at St. Mary’s Church in Elmira, New York, on Friday, Nov. 18, at 10 a.m., followed by a committal at Sts. Peter and Paul Cemetery, also in Elmira.
A Memorial Mass will be celebrated at St. Paul Church, Cranston, on Saturday, Dec. 10, at 11 a.m. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Jane’s name to St. Paul Church, One Saint Paul Place, Cranston, R.I. 02905 or to your favorite charity.
