RUMFORD — Bishop Thomas J. Tobin installed Father Jeremy J. Rodrigues, S.T.L., as pastor of St. Margaret Parish, Rumford, on Sunday, Aug. 1.

The Mass was attended by parishioners, family, friends, brother priests as well as students and staff of St. Margaret School, all eager to welcome their new parish shepherd.

During his homily, Bishop Tobin thanked Father Rodrigues for his many years of service to the Diocese of Providence as the Administrative Secretary to the Bishop.

“He’s been outstanding and a source of great assistance and consolation and friendship for me. I’ll always be grateful for the wonderful work that Father Rodrigues has done. I have no doubt that he will work very, very well here in your parish community. He’s a fine and dedicated priest and I’m sending him to one of the great parishes of the Diocese of Providence. It’s a marriage made in heaven. I know God will bless you as you work together to strengthen the church, proclaim the Gospel and build God’s kingdom in our midst.”
