TO THE EDITOR:
About 35 years ago, I encountered a woman of great faith by the name of Dolores Suriani. She came into my life while I was taking some time off from medical school. She inspired me to persevere, and to trust in Jesus. Essentially, her counsel and spiritual mentoring helped me to keep the faith. At the time, her son was actively pursuing his vocation to the priesthood.
Years later, I ran into Father Ray Suriani at a St. Pius X prayer event after I had returned to medical school. I remember his words to me were “keep the faith.”
Fast forward now to 2021. Father Ray Suriani, pastor emeritus of St. Pius X church, and son of my dear friend and spiritual mentor, continues to witness to the faith by his life, perseverance, humility and service to God’s people. How wonderful to see him receiving a special gift of tickets to see his favorite football team, the Green Bay Packers. Well deserved Father Ray! And thank you for being a witness to Christ and inspiring all of us to keep the faith!
