Francis J. Davenport, 68

PAWTUCKET — Francis Jerome Davenport, 68, of Green Lane Road, died June 18 at the Memorial Hospital of R.I. He was the husband of Judith Ann (Gilligan) Davenport, and the brother of Father Christopher M. Davenport, pastor of Sts. Peter and Paul Church, West Warwick.

A life long resident of Pawtucket, he was the son of the late Christopher A. and Helene (Toomey) Davenport.

He was a postal clerk, serving at the U.S. Post Office, Darlington Station. He had been a postal employee for 40 years, and served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. He was a communicant of St. Leo the Great Church.

In addition to his wife and Father Davenport, he is survived by a son, Stephen C. Davenport of Rumford; two daughters, Kathleen Ann Correia of East Providence, and Colleen Mary Barrett of Hurricane, W.V.; and a sister, Virginia D. Casey of Pawtucket.

A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated June 23 at St. Leo the Great Church. Burial, with military honors, was in Mt. St. Mary Cemetery, Pawtucket.
