Second graders from Greater Woonsocket Catholic Regional School are hard at work preparing to make this the best and most holy Lent ever. On Ash Wednesday, the students began the day with the school community participating in a Mass celebrated by Father Ryan Simas. The students have been discussing sacrifices they can make over the next 40 days, making their own Almsgiving Boxes as well as learning about and bringing home a Lenten Journey Family Activity. “Our hope is we can all grow closer to God together over the next 40 days, one small act at a time,” said Mrs. Ziegler, second grade teacher.
