Holy Apostles Parish, Cranston, hosted its 24th annual Summer Retreat — the first in two years due to the pandemic — by welcoming more than 90 high school teens, college students, young adults and adult advisors to the church Aug. 14-15. The retreat was the first for the parish’s new pastor, Father William Ledoux, and was held under the direction of Michael Santilli, director of Holy Apostles Church Youth Ministry. Other parish volunteers in attendance included diocesan Vicar General and Moderator of the Curia Msgr. Albert Kenney, Deacon Greg Albanese and parish seminarian Michael Stabile. The theme of the retreat was “St. Joseph, Protector of the Faith” to coincide with the Church year dedicated to St. Joseph. The weekend included opportunities to receive the sacrament of Penance, along with celebration of the Holy Mass, adoration of the Most Blessed Sacrament, educational sessions, athletic competitions, quiet time and meals together.
