On Friday, Jan. 16, seminarians from Saint John’s traveled to Providence for the 2nd annual seminarian basketball game against Our Lady of Providence seminarians. The evening began with a Holy Hour for Vocations at St. Augustine’s Parish before moving to the court for a competitive matchup opened in prayer by Bishop Bruce Lewandowski, C.Ss.R. Comedian Kevin Sullivan offered light-hearted commentary throughout. While Saint John’s secured a 41–33 victory, the event’s true success was the joyful witness of fraternity and shared mission.
Bishop Lewandowski said, “God in your goodness... pour out abundant blessings upon all of us in this gathering, that good sportsmanship, that the use of talent, skill, and ability, that our time of sharing together, of friendship and fellowship will give praise, glory and honor to you that this moment of sharing truly be a moment of deepening our relationship with each other. And in doing so, may we grow closer to you.”
