Marking January as Poverty Awareness Month, the 18th Annual Poverty Vigil brought together Rhode Island’s faith leaders, advocates, and elected officials in prayer and public witness, renewing a shared moral responsibility to care for those most in need. In his keynote address, Bishop Bruce A. Lewandowski, C.Ss.R., reminded those gathered that prayer must always lead to action: “If you lift your hands in worship, you better get your feet ready to walk.”
