PAWTUCKET — The Little Sisters of the Poor recently welcomed guests to the Jeanne Jugan Residence in Pawtucket on Wednesday, Aug. 21 for a Summer Soirée featuring food and drink from area restaurants and businesses.
More than 300 guests gathered for the event, which raised more than $50,000 to support the Little Sisters’ mission of caring for the elderly poor.
The soirée featured fine wine, craft beer, and signature small bites from area restaurants and confectioners in a delightful garden setting.
The sisters are grateful to the many donors, supporters, restaurants and guests, including event sponsors Navigant Credit Union and the Papitto Foundation, who joined them for the event.
Continuing the work of Saint Jeanne Jugan, the sister’s mission is to offer the neediest elderly of every race and religion a home where they will be welcomed as Christ, cared for as family and accompanied with dignity until God calls them home.
