PROVIDENCE — Are the extraordinary natural and unnatural disasters currently being experienced around the globe signs that we might be facing the end of times? What events will precede the final days, and how can we prepare for or perhaps even avoid them? These are the questions explored by Paul F. Caranci in his new book, “Before the End of the Age: Signs of the Coming Chastisement.”
“The chastisements will be small and localized at first,” explained Caranci. “Earthquakes, tsunamis, hurricanes, tornados, volcanic eruptions, fires and floods, followed by plagues that will include invasions of locusts, mosquitos and killer bees. Diseases will spread out of control and there will be civil unrest and great wars. Some will resort to prayer and penance. But not enough will repent and mankind will be struck with an illumination of conscience.”
Caranci notes that all is not lost, and the sorrow will turn to joy for those who are faithful. “There will be peace and joy following these days, the author notes, “all you need to do to survive is to turn to God.”
Caranci has written 12 books, four of which have won critical acclaim. Two of his books, “The Promise of Fatima: One Hundred Years of History,” “Mystery and Faith” (2018) and “I Am the Immaculate Conception: The Story of Bernadette of Lourdes” (2019), were named finalists in the International Book Awards held in Los Angeles in May of 2018 and 2019 respectively.
In addition, a Hollywood production company has purchased the movie rights to “The Hanging & Redemption of John Gordon: The True Story of Rhode Island’s Last Execution,” “I Am the Immaculate Conception: The Story of Bernadette of Lourdes,” “Heavenly Portrait: The Miraculous Image of Our Lady of Guadalupe,” and “Terror in Wichita: A True Story of One Woman’s Courage and Her Will to Live.”
