Local link of national Life Chain to peacefully, prayerfully stand up for unborn

PROVIDENCE — Throughout Rhode Island and the nation, many will line the streets and sidewalks to peacefully and prayerfully stand up for all human life at the annual upcoming Life Chain event as Respect Life Month begins.
For one hour, individuals will come together at different locations across the state, forming the Life Chain on October 4, from 2-3 p.m. All ages are invited to attend and pray for an end to abortion. The National Life Chain Sunday began in 1987 in California with more than 2,000 participants.
The 2020 Life Chain locations are as follows: Holy Ghost Church, 311 Hooper St., Tiverton; Sacred Heart Church, 820 Providence St., West Warwick; St. Anthony Church, 10 Sunset Ave., West Warwick; St. Francis de Sales / St. Bernard Rt. 1 Post Road, North Kingstown (near TJ Maxx); St. John Paul II Church (St. Cecilia), 755 Central Ave., Pawtucket; St. Joseph Church, 1200 Mendon Road, Woonsocket; St. Martha Church, 2595 Pawtucket Ave., East Providence; St. Mary Church, 588 Broadway, Providence; St. Patrick Church, 244 Smith St., Providence; St. Philip Church, 622 Putnam Pike, Greenville; St. Thomas / Holy Cross, 645 Hartford Ave., West Warwick; St. Timothy Church, 1799 Warwick Ave., Warwick.
Social distancing of about 20 steps, the wearing of protective masks and all necessary precautions as outlined by the Rhode Island Department of Health will be followed.
The Office of Life and Family Ministry has also announced that this year there will not be a fall diocesan-sponsored 40 Days for Life campaign. In place of the campaign and in commemoration of Respect Life Month, Life and Family Ministry encourages everyone take part in Masses, the upcoming Life Chain, Holy Hours, Rosary campaigns, and to safely pray outside of abortion clinics in solidarity for life.
