Making the world a better place

Each month, St. Rocco School in Johnston holds a special Dress Down Day to benefit a local cause or charity. The students always wear a color that reflects the charity or organization and in this case the purple represents the season of Lent. The school collected $152 for the Lenten Catholic Relief Service Rice Bowl Collection. Each Lent, Catholics across the country unite to put their faith into action through prayer, fasting and almsgiving. Through CRS Rice Bowl, they learn about how our sisters and brothers across the globe overcome hardships like hunger and malnutrition, and how through Lenten alms, we have the power to make the world a better place for all.
