Mayor visits cathedral

Bishop Richard G. Henning welcomed Providence Mayor Brett Smiley to the Cathedral of SS. Peter and Paul on Wednesday, Sept. 20, where he was greeted by a delegation of students from St. Patrick Academy. After speaking with the students about their educational and career goals, Mayor Smiley and the group entered the cathedral, where Father Jeremy J. Rodrigues, director of the Office of Divine Worship, and pastor of St. Margaret Parish in East Providence, led a very detailed and informative tour of the cathedral’s architecture and history.
