WARWICK — Bishop Hendricken High School has announced plans to celebrate its largest fundraiser of the year, the For the Boys Gala, with a twist. On Saturday, May 8, the school will present a hybrid affair allowing 100 guests to attend in person, while others will have the opportunity to participate virtually on Hendricken’s Facebook and YouTube platforms. Proceeds from this signature event support the Tuition Assistance Fund, making it possible for more boys who desire the Hendricken experience the opportunity to realize their dream.
“As a leader in Catholic education for young men for over 60 years, Hendricken has chosen the theme “Funding the Future” for this year’s event, recognizing the school’s desire to build a better, safer, and stronger Hendricken for years to come,” noted Hendricken president, Father Robert L. Marciano, KHS.
The marquee event will kick off with cocktails and hors d’oeuvres and a “Red Carpet,” followed by a live program from Hendricken’s Dr. Daniel S. Harrop Theater. All guests, both in person and virtual, will be able to enjoy a fun and lively event from 8:00 – 9:30 pm, emceed by WPRI meteorologist, Tony Petrarca. The evening will include a live auction of nearly a dozen spectacular packages including trips, experiences, and catered meals, performances by Hendricken’s Arts Academy students, a diamond earring raffle, and the showing of a special “Fund the Future” video premiere. Beginning May 1, participants will also have the opportunity to bid on over 100 items during a weeklong, online auction.
Corporate sponsorships underwrite the cost of the event, allowing every dollar to directly benefit a young man who desires the Hendricken experience, regardless of income. The For the Boys Gala has raised over $1,000,000 for the Tuition Assistance Fund since its inception in 2014.
For further information, to purchase tickets to the live program, or to gain access to the online auction, please contact Mollie Goodwin, at mgoodwin@hendricken.com or 401-739-8261. All in person COVID-19 protocols, including mask wearing and social distancing, will be followed per the guidelines of the Rhode Island Department of Health. Others may attend virtually and bid on live auction items by logging onto Hendricken’s Facebook (facebook.com/BeAHendrickenHawk) and YouTube platforms on May 8.
