Divine Mercy celebration to be held at St. Pius V Church
PROVIDENCE—St. Pius V Church, 240 Eaton St., will celebrate The Feast of Divine Mercy, Sunday, April 11. Adoration will be held from 2-4:15 p.m., during which time priests will be available to hear confessions. Holy Name of Jesus Church to host Mission
PROVIDENCE — Holy Name of Jesus Church, 99 Camp St., will host a Mission, preached by Father John Eudes Brohl, ORC, on April 19-21.The schedule is as follows — Monday and Tuesday: 6:30 p.m. Confession and Rosary; 7 p.m. Holy Mass followed by conference. Wednesday: 6:30 p.m. Confession and Rosary; 7 p.m. conference followed by Holy Mass with the reception of Consecration to the Guardian Angel of those who have completed the year of formation. Also on Wednesday, there is an opportunity to apply for the one year formation towards the Consecration to the Guardian Angel Opus Sanctorum Angelorum or “Work of the Holy Angels.” For more information, call 272-4515.
Seasons of Hope Grief Support Group
WESTERLY — Those searching for comfort, hope and peace after losing a loved one are invited to participate in six-week support group, Seasons of Hope. Each meeting includes prayer, Scripture reading and reflection, a video and discussion. Meetings will be held on Saturdays, May 1 – June 5, from 8:30-10:30 a.m. at St. Pius X Church, 44 Elm St. To ensure everyone’s safety, group size is limited and face masks are required. ‘The Opening of the Pius XII Archives: What’s at Stake for Jews and Catholics?’
PROVIDENCE — The Departments of Theology and History and Classics at Providence College will co-host a webinar on April 14 from 7- 8:30 p.m. as part of the Theological Exchange Between Catholics and Jews lecture series. Two panelists, Rabbi David Sandmel, Senior Advisor on Interreligious Affairs at the Anti-Defamation League, and Robert Ventresca, Professor of History at King’s University College at Western University, will discuss the topic: “The Opening of the Pius XII Archives: What’s at Stake for Jews and Catholics?” To register for the event, or for more information, email ktitus@providence.edu. Healing Mass for the Loss of a Child
GREENVILLE — The Respect Life Ministry at Saint Philip Church will host a Healing Mass for pregnancy and infant loss. Parents, grandparents, siblings and family who grieve the loss of children from the causes of miscarriage, stillbirth, abortion and early infant death, are all invited. The Mass will be celebrated by Father Phillip Dufour on Thursday, April 29 at 6 p.m., at Saint Philip Parish, 622 Putnam Pike. Social distancing and mask-wearing will be observed.
