Bishop Bruce A. Lewandowski, C.Ss.R., presided at a local celebration of the National Day of Prayer for Peace aimed at increasing prayer and action to strive for peace in our communities. Entitled “A Community Gathering of Faith, Hope, and Unity,” the event included song, prayer, reflections, and petitions for unity and peace. Members of the St. Martin de Porres community participated by reading and providing uplifting song while students from the Providence College Nursing program read prayer petitions.
