Principals start off the new school year in prayer

On September 10, school principals from across the diocese gathered at the Cathedral of Saints Peter and Paul, Providence, for Mass with Bishop Bruce A. Lewandowski, C.Ss.R., followed by their first business meeting of the year. In his homily, Bishop Lewandowski reflected on the way we often see ourselves—defined by flaws and imperfections—contrasted with how God sees us: with unshakable delight. Drawing on Psalm 17:8, he reminded us that we are the “apple of God’s eye.” Even amid life’s hardships, one’s blessedness is not found in circumstances, but in the One who calls us His own. Every person has worth and purpose— because in God’s eyes, there’s no such thing as a bad apple.
