Providence College broke ground on Shanley Hall, a new six-story, suite style residence hall on Wednesday, April 13, in the student parking lot located on Eaton Street. Shanley Hall, named for former, longtime PC President Rev. Brian Shanley O.P., is intended for sophomore students and will feature approximately 360 beds in the 120,000 square foot building. Providence College is not adding additional beds, but the new facility will allow PC to begin renovations of some of its existing residence halls, which the college will have to take offline to achieve. Dimeo Construction is the general contractor and SMMA is the architect. Completion is expected in September 2023.
