Providence College freshmen and leaders involved in the Urban Action program help prepare the St. Pius V playground last Tuesday. This program is designed to increase students’ understanding of urban issues while also introducing them to the Providence community. Through Urban Action, students spend three days volunteering at local sites in the city of Providence, and one day volunteering on campus helping fellow classmates move in. This year they assisted at St. Pius V, St. Augustine School and Veazie Street Elementary School. Through dedication to service and reflection, they make a difference in their new community.
