Rhode Island Catholic School students follow 'Flat Francis'

Posted

First Photo: In celebration of Pope Francis’ visit to the United States, the students of St. Augustine School in Providence followed the Pope’s route around the country each day in morning prayer. In the picture Principal Andrew Brassard, Father Scott Carpentier, Father Robert Forcier, and students are each holding up their “Flat Francis” replicas.

“Flat Francis” is a take on Flat Stanley, an educational tool who gains his popularity from being photographed at sites around the world.

Second Photo: In anticipation of Pope Francis’s visit to the United States, students at Saint Cecilia School in Pawtucket took pictures with Flat Francis. The students along with Catholics from across the country took pictures with Flat Francis to show Pope Francis “the face of American Catholicism.”

The pictures were posted on Saint Cecilia’s Facebook page and shared with #FlatFrancis.org.

A collage of all the pictures taken with Flat Francis from around the country will be put into a collage and given to Pope Francis.
