Rhode Island Catholic students honor local heroes at Veteran's Day events
A Veteran’s Day prayer service was held on November 9 in St. Rocco Church in Johnston. Students from St. Rocco School read poems that they wrote, carried photos of loved ones, sang patriotic songs, and prayed for all veterans.

On November 10, students from Saint Teresa School in Pawtucket paid special tribute to the American veterans who have so heroically defended and served the country. Middle school students formed an honor guard to greet each student and parent as they arrived at school this morning. For the rest of the day students made ornaments for a veterans’ group and for the month of November the school community will collect warm clothing and food for veterans.
