Saint Julian of Le Mans

Posted

Saint Julian of Le Mans (3rd century) was born of Roman nobility.

He was the first bishop of Le Mans, France and evangelized around Le Mans, an area under the influence of the old Roman pantheon and the Druids.

When he felt he was growing too old to effectively perform his ministerial duties, he retired to live as a hermit at Sarthe. Many extraordinary miracles were attributed to him by writers long after his death.

His relics were transferred to the cathedral of Notre-Dame-du-Pre at Le Mans, France in 1254
