Saint Raphael Academy To Host Two Dedication Ceremonies

PAWTUCKET — Saint Raphael Academy will host two dedication ceremonies for the Saints community on Friday, April 1, to celebrate the renaming of the West Building and the official opening of the Academy’s new student center.
The day will begin with the dedication of the Mills Family Student Center in the White Building, Saint Raphael Academy’s original school building when it opened in 1924. Over the summer, the former library was renovated to become a collaborative learning space for students and faculty to use. The renovations were made possible with a generous donation from Richard ’89 and Demi (attended ’85-’88) Mills. The Mills Family will be in attendance and are looking forward to seeing the space in person.
The Academy will also host a renaming ceremony in the afternoon for the West Building, which will then be known as The Walker Family Building, in honor of Charles Walker Jr. ’64. Mr. Walker is a staunch and generous supporter of the Academy and is also the co-chair of the capital campaign, The Next 100 Years, which to date has raised more than $5 million for scholarships and financial aid and Academy improvements. Mr. Walker is the CEO of Chemlink Laboratories Inc. and was inducted into the Academy’s inaugural Hall of Fame in 2018.
