In the spirit of St. Francis, Deacon Scott Brown visited the Providence Police Mounted Command to offer a blessing upon the police horses. The annual Blessing of the Animals, which often takes place in parishes throughout the Diocese of Providence, commemorates the feast day of St. Francis of Assisi, patron saint of animals and the environment.
