A Night to Honor Mary
PROVIDENCE — The 150th anniversary celebration of the Diocese of Providence begins with A Night to Honor Mary on September 8, 6 p.m., in the Cathedral of Saints Peter and Paul. Beginning September 8, 2021, and lasting until June, 26, 2022, the Diocese of Providence will host an ongoing celebration of the sesquicentennial of its founding in February, 1872. Holy Hour for 20th anniversary of 9/11
EAST PROVIDENCE — In remembrance of the 20th anniversary of 9/11, a Holy Hour will be held at St. Martha’s Church, 2595 Pawtucket Ave., on Thursday, Sept. 9, 7 – 8:15 p.m. The evening will include exposition of the Blessed Sacrament, reflection on the history and prayer for the nation, holy rosary and chaplet of divine mercy prayer, benediction and enrollment in the Brown Scapular. Diocesan Youth Day
CUMBERLAND — The 2021 Diocesan Youth Day will take place on September 11, from 11 a.m. – 8 p.m., at Our Lady of Fatima Church, 1 Fatima Drive. This year’s theme is “Empowered,” and will welcome special musical guest Cooper Ray. The day will include music, games, workshops, Mass, adoration, sacrament of reconciliation, food, fun and more. Silver Rose pilgrimage to visit St. Joseph Church
WOONSOCKET — Each year, from early March to mid-December, the Silver Rose makes a pilgrimage from Canada through the United States to Mexico, stewarded by the Knights of Columbus Councils. Each stop of the journey a rosary is said in respect for the dignity of human life, in honor of our Lady. This year, the Silver Rose will make a stop at St. Joseph’s Church, 1200 Mendon Road, on Thursday, Sept. 9 at 7 p.m. with the celebration of Mass. All are invited to attend.

Flame of Love of the Immaculate Heart of Mary Prayer Cenacle
WARWICK — Flame of Love of the Immaculate Heart of Mary Prayer Cenacle, held at St. Timothy Church, will begin holding their meetings in the church beginning on Wednesday, Sept. 15, 1 p.m. Beginning on October 6, the cenacle will begin weekly meetings. New members are welcome. Our Lady of Fatima Feast to be held Labor Day weekend
CUMBERLAND — The Our Lady of Fatima Feast will be celebrated September 3-5 at Our Lady of Fatima Church, 1 Fatima Drive. The event will feature food, music and more. Weather permitting, Sunday Masses will be celebrated outdoors as well as a procession on Sunday evening. WOONSOCKET — St. Agatha Church will hold a yard sale in the church hall, corner of Logee Street and Fairfield Avenue, September 9, 10, 11, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. each day.

Little Sisters to hold indoor yard sale
PAWTUCKET — The Little Sisters of the Poor Jeanne Jugan Residence, 964 Main St., will host an indoor yard sale on Friday and Saturday, Sept. 10-11, from 9 a.m. - 2 p.m. The two-day sale will include furniture, home décor, jewelry, housewares and more. All proceeds will support the mission of the Little Sisters. Covid-19 prevention protocols will be in effect, including screening before entry and capacity restrictions. Face coverings are required. Polish Family Festival
CENTRAL FALLS — A Polish Family Festival will be held in the parking lot of St. Joseph’s Church, 391 High St., on Friday, Sept. 10, from 6 p.m. – 12 a.m.; Saturday, Sept. 11, from 6 p.m. – 12 a.m.; and Sunday, Sept. 12, from 12 – 6 p.m. Polish Food will be available inside the parish center, located right across the street from the church. There will be various raffles, pastry booth, prizes and pictures with Santa. There is no admission charge. Please use a mask. Homecoming event canceled for St. Francis Xavier Academy Alumnae Association

St. Ambrose Church to host second Drive-Thru Clambake
ALBION — St. Ambrose Church, 191 School St., will hold its second Drive-Thru Clambake on Sunday, Sept. 12, on the church grounds from noon – 4 p.m. (rain or shine). Ignatian Volunteer Corps needs your help
PROVIDENCE — The Ignatian Volunteer Corps is currently seeking volunteers age 50 and older to start in the fall of 2021. Each volunteer commits to serve one to two days per week for 10 months at an agency working with individuals struggling with poverty and marginalization. Volunteers also engage in monthly opportunities for spiritual growth in the Jesuit tradition. Placement sites are located in the Providence, Worcester and Boston areas. A Night of Music and Dancing
WARREN — St. Thomas the Apostle Church will host a dance on Saturday, Sept. 18, from 5:30 - 8:30 p.m. The music will be provided by the band “4’S Country.” The kitchen will be open selling limited sandwiches and soft drinks. If you prefer, you may bring your own food and beverages of your choice. There will be an admission charge at the door, but coffee, tea, and pastry are included. A silent auction, and raffle will be held. If you can, please bring a pastry to share.
