Archbishop Richard G. Henning to celebrate Chrism Mass
PROVIDENCE — All are invited to attend the Chrism Mass on Monday, April 14, 6 p.m., at the Cathedral of SS. Peter & Paul. The celebrant and homilist will be Archbishop Richard G. Henning, S.T.D. At this Holy Mass the priests of the Diocese of Providence renew their priestly promises. The archbishop will also consecrate and bless the sacred oils used in the sacramental rites of the church for the coming year. There will be an ASL Interpreter at Mass.
40 Days for Life Lenten Campaign
PROVIDENCE — The 40 Days for Life Spring Campaign began on Ash Wednesday and runs through Sunday, April 13, with vigil hours every day at the public right-of-way outside the Planned Parenthood Providence abortion facility, 175 Broad St. The local campaign is coordinated by Rhode Island Right to Life and the diocesan Office of Life & Family Ministry. Saint Joseph Church to host All-Day Confessions
WOONSOCKET — Saint Joseph Church, 1200 Mendon Road, will hold its annual All-Day Confessions on Saturday, April 5, from 9 a.m. – 2 p.m. This special event offers local Catholics a dedicated opportunity for confession in a welcoming and supportive environment, specifically designed to ease any anxiety about the sacrament. It aims to address the concerns of those returning to confession after being away for some time. To ensure a smooth experience, volunteers will be available to assist, written instructions will be provided, and up to four priests will be present at all times. A total of more than a dozen local priests contribute to the event. Confessionals will offer both screen and face-to-face options. Authors to speak on Our Lady of Guadalupe
JAMESTOWN/PROVIDENCE — All are welcome to take part in a spiritual and historical look at the miracle of Our Lady of Guadalupe, led by internationally renowned authors, Joseph and Monique Gonzalez. They will lead attendees through history discovering how God prepared the indigenous people of Mexico to accept and embrace the message of Our Blessed Mother in 1531. This speaking event will be offered in English at St. Mark Church, 60 Narragansett Ave., Jamestown, on April 6, 4 p.m., and in Spanish at St. Charles Borromeo Church, 178 Dexter St., Providence on April 7, 7 p.m. Admission is free.
Providence College Honors Symposium: Realizing a Synodal Community
PROVIDENCE— Providence College Honors Symposium will be held Saturday, April 5, 9:30 a.m. - 4 p.m. in the Ruane Center for the Humanities, Ruane 105, at Providence College. First Friday Adoration
PROVIDENCE — The First Friday Eucharistic Adoration will be offered for the Jubilee Year of Hope and for Vocations to the priesthood and religious life in the diocese. Adoration is a quiet time spent in prayer before Jesus present in the Eucharist. Join on the First Friday of each month from 12:30 p.m. - 3 p.m. in the Cathedral of Saints Peter and Paul, for: Exposition of the Blessed Sacrament, 12:30 p.m.; Recitation of the Holy Rosary, 2 p.m.; Divine Mercy Chaplet, 2:45 p.m.; concluding at 3 p.m. with Reposition. Free Throw Contest

Stations of the Cross on Ocean Road
NARRAGANSETT — St. Thomas More Parish invites all parishioners and friends at noon on Good Friday, April 18 at St. Thomas More Church, 53 Rockland St., as the cross is carried though the streets of Narragansett as a re-enactment of Jesus’ final journey to Calvary. The walk will take place outside via Ocean Road, along the sea wall and under the Narragansett Towers. This is a rain or shine event. All are welcome to join the procession. Lenten Dinner
PORTSMOUTH – The St. Barnabas 50th Anniversary Festival Committee will host a Lenten Dinner on April 4, in the church hall, 1697 East Main Road. Dinner choices include a baked filet of sole with seafood stuffing with rice or a warm lobster roll served with drawn butter and French fries. All meals include clam chowder, coleslaw, drinks and dessert. Children under 6 can enjoy complimentary mac and cheese. Dine in or take out available. Tickets can be purchased at the St. Barnabas office. All tickets must be purchased in advance by Thursday 2 p.m. on April 3.
Visual tour of the Holy Land
NARRAGANSETT — On Sunday, April 6, 6 p.m., at St. Thomas More Parish Church, 53 Rockland St., Father David Grenier, OFM, will lead a visual tour of the Holy Land where you will see and learn about the sites where Jesus taught the scriptures, helping us learn of the land where our redemption took place. Portuguese Breakfast
NORTH KINGSTOWN — The Knights of Columbus will hold a Portuguese breakfast at the council hall, 1265 Tower Hill Road, on Sunday, April 13, from 7:30 - 10:30 a.m. The menu will include scrambled eggs, Portuguese-style potatoes, linguica, chourico, baked beans, massa-traditional Portuguese sweetbread, traditional Portuguese rice pie, orange juice, coffee and tea.
