The Visitation of the Missionary Image of Our Lady of Guadalupe

DIOCESAN-WIDE —The Missionary Image of Our Lady of Guadalupe will be visiting the diocese in various parishes throughout Rhode Island now through Sunday, Feb. 1. The image is an exact replica of the original image of Our Lady, which she left on the Tilma of St. Juan Diego in December 1531, and is among four images blessed at the Basilica of Our Lady of Guadalupe in Mexico by the Rector of the Basilica, Msgr. Monroy, to bring conversions, reverence for life, sanctity of the family, and solidarity of the Church in America. The Missionary Images are known to have been associated with many miracles and healings. Seminarian Basketball Game

PROVIDENCE — St. Augustine Church, 20 Old Rd., will host the second annual Seminarian basketball game on Friday, Jan. 16, from 6:30 to 8 p.m. The evening will begin with Adoration at 6:30 p.m., followed by a basketball showdown between St. John’s Seminary and Our Lady of Providence Seminary in the gym featuring comedian Kevin Sullivan. The event will include prayer, fellowship and competition. Door fee and concession proceeds to benefit the Diocese of Providence Office of Vocations.

Mary, Mother of Mankind Bingo Night

NORTH PROVIDENCE — Mary, Mother of Mankind Church, 25 Fourth St., will host a Bingo Night to benefit its religious education program on Friday, Jan. 16, starting at 6 p.m. The kitchen will open at 5 p.m. The event will feature bingo games, food from the kitchen and is open to all. A Holy Mass for Life with Bishop Lewandowski

PROVIDENCE — The diocesan Office of Life and Family Ministry is sponsoring a Holy Mass for Life, in thanksgiving for the gift of life, on Saturday, Jan. 17, at 9 a.m. in the Cathedral of Saints Peter and Paul. Our Lady of Altagracia Mass

PROVIDENCE — The Cathedral of Saints Peter and Paul will host the Solemn Mass in honor of Our Lady of Altagracia on Wednesday, Jan. 21, at 7 p.m. All are welcome to attend. The Mass will be celebrated by His Excellency, the Most Reverend Bruce A. Lewandowski, C.Ss.R., Bishop of Providence, and concelebrated by priests and assisted by deacons who serve in parishes with Hispanic communities throughout the diocese. Before the Mass, there will be confessions and the recitation of the Holy Rosary at 5:30 p.m.
