Afternoon of Music

Blessing of the Animals and Transitus
PROVIDENCE — St. Patrick Church, 244 Smith St., will celebrate the Feast of St. Francis of Assisi, on Saturday, Oct. 1 at 10 a.m. A Franciscan Blessing of the Animals will be held in the church parking lot. All are welcome to bring your companion animals for prayer and an individual blessing. Dogs must be leashed, cats in a carrier. On Sunday, Oct. 2, at 7 p.m., the Transitus will be at St. Patrick Church. The Transitus is the completion of Francis’ earthly life and his passage through death into eternal life. A solemn celebration will take place, with Franciscan prayer, song, scripture and relic veneration. Refreshments will be served and you’re invited to learn about the Secular Franciscan Order of St. Clare of Assisi. The Feast of St. Therese of Lisieux
NASONVILLE — Our Lady of Good Help and St. Theresa’s Shrine, 35 Dion Drive, will celebrate the Feast of St. Therese of Lisieux on Saturday Oct. 1. The day begins with Masses at 8:30 a.m. and 10 a.m. Coffee an’ will be held in the church hall after the 8:30 a.m. Mass. Following the 10 a.m. Mass, pilgrims will process to the statue of St. Therese and there venerate her relics. Public Square Rosary Rally
WEST WARWICK — All are welcome to the join in a Public Square Rosary Rally on Saturday, Oct. 15, at noon (rain or shine) at the Majestic Gazebo, Main and Washington Streets. Annual Walk for Life
WESTERLY — St. Pius X Church, 45 Elm St., will host its annual Walk for Life, “Witness to the powerful sanctity of human life,” on Sunday, Oct. 16, beginning at noon. Gather at St. Pius X Church with a one-mile walk to include a brief prayer service at the Tomb of the Unborn at St. Sebastian’s Cemetery.
