An Evening with Father Pat
PROVIDENCE — St. Agnes Church, 351 Branch Ave., will host “An Evening with Father Pat” on Saturday, Sept. 28 at 6:30 p.m., in the church hall. Father Pat has been hosting evenings of music at LaSalette Shrine for decades and will bring his music to the parish. Refreshments will be served. Daughters of Isabella to host a Bingo fundraiser
WARWICK — St. Benedict Circle #423 Daughters of Isabella will host a Bingo fundraiser on Saturday, September 28. Doors open at 11:30 a.m. and games start at 12:30 p.m. There will also be a penny social, a 50/50 and a vintage silent auction. Refreshments will be provided. Baby shower to be held for the unborn
GREENVILLE — The R.I. Chapter of Magnificat will host a baby shower for the unborn on Saturday, Sept. 28, from 9 a.m. – noon, at St. Philip Parish center. St. Michael the Archangel Church to host International Festival
PROVIDENCE — St. Michael the Archangel Church, 239 Oxford St., will host its 44th Annual International Festival “Building Bridges” on Sunday, Sept. 29, beginning with an international Mass at 10 a.m. followed by the festival from 11 a.m. – 5 p.m. The festival will feature ethnic food, games, raffle prizes, live music and dancing. Annual Macaroni Dinner
WARREN — St. Alexander Church, 221 Main St., will serve the local community dinner on Sunday, Sept. 29 from noon – 6 p.m. The menu includes antipasto, soup, macaroni (all you can eat) meatballs, bread and butter and coffee. St. Theresa’s Feast Day celebration
HARRISVILLE — All are welcome to take part in the St. Thérèse Feast Day celebration at the Shrine of the Little Flower, 35 Dion Drive, on Sunday, Sept. 29 and Tuesday, Oct. 1. On Sunday, there will be Holy Rosary at 11 a.m., and then Holy Mass and Veneration of the Relics at 11:30 a.m., followed by a light lunch at 12:30 p.m., and a presentation and a procession at 1:15 p.m. A Holy Hour will commence at 2:15 p.m. with confessions, mid-afternoon prayer, the Divine Mercy Chaplet and Benediction. St. Pius X Church to show pro-life film ‘Unplanned’
WESTERLY — A showing of the film, “Unplanned: The Abby Johnson Story” will take place at St. Pius X Church Hall, 45 Elm St., on Thursday Oct. 3, at 6 p.m. Admission is free and includes refreshments, popcorn, soda, water, coffee and tea. This movie is rated R. Children and under 17 must be accompanied by a parent/guardian. The recommended age is high school and up. Chowder, Clam Cakes and Burger Night
PROVIDENCE — St. Agnes Church, 351 Branch Ave., will open the kitchen in the church hall on October 4 for the monthly chowder, clam cakes, burgers and fries night from 5-7 p.m. This event will take place every first Friday of the month. St. Rita’s Autumn Bazaar
WARWICK — Enjoy a fun, fall day at the St. Rita’s Women’s Club Autumn Bazaar on Saturday, Oct. 5, from 9 a.m. – 3 p.m. This event has moved to a more spacious location at St. Benedict’s parish hall, behind the church at 135 Beach Ave. (traffic light) in Warwick’s Conimicut Village. Our Lady of Sorrows Bereavement Support Group to meet
PROVIDENCE — The Our Lady of Sorrows Bereavement Support Group, offered by the Office of Life and Family, will be held at St. Pius V Rectory, 55 Elmhurst Ave., Saturday mornings 10 – 11:30 a.m., Oct. 5 through November 16. This seven week support group provides a peaceful and healing environment for people to learn about grief and to share their experiences, thoughts and feelings, all with the spiritual comfort of our Catholic faith. This group will be facilitated by the St. Pius V Bereavement Ministry, and is most appropriate for adults at least three months beyond their loss. Open House at Saint Raphael Academy
PAWTUCKET — Saint Raphael Academy invites prospective students and their families to an Open House on Sunday, Oct. 6, from noon to 3 p.m. Registration will be in Alumni Hall, located at 194 Walcott St. Families of students who are interested in entering as freshmen in the fall 2020 and current high school students who are interested in transferring will take a student-led tour of the campus, meet with faculty and discover the variety of sports and extra-curricular activities the Academy has to offer. Students may also register for the free Catholic High School Entrance Exam Prep Class that will be held at Saint Raphael Academy on Saturday, Nov. 16. Seating for this class is limited. ‘Finding Hope’ support group for divorced or separated
MIDDLETOWN — The Office of Life and Family will offer the “Finding Hope” support group for those divorced or separated at St. Lucy Church, 909 W. Main Road, in the parish center. The support group will meet Thursdays (except Halloween/Thanksgiving), 7 - 8:30 p.m., Oct. 10 through Dec. 12. This free program provides a healing environment for sharing your thoughts and experiences and provides topics related to separation/divorce, all within the light of our Catholic faith. Seasons of Hope Grief Support Group
WESTERLY — Seasons of Hope will offer a six-week support group for those searching for comfort, hope and peace after losing a loved one. Each meeting includes prayer, Scripture reading and reflection, a video and discussion. Hope and Cope support group to meet
PORTSMOUTH — The St. Matthias Ministry Hope and Cope Support Group will meet on Sunday, Oct. 20, from 5 - 6 p.m. in the chapel meeting room, under the chapel, at St. Barnabas Church, 1697 E. Main Road. If you know someone who is supporting a loved one or friend in need of recovery or currently in recovery yourself, then this group is for you. WEST WARWICK — St. Mary Church, 70 Church St., will hold the Autumn Angel Bazaar, Oct. 26, from 8 a.m. – 6 p.m. and Oct. 27 from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. Breakfast and lunch will be served, with plenty of parking and handicap accessibility. St. Pius X Church Annual Walk for Life
WESTERLY — St. Pius X Church Hall, 45 Elm St., will host the annual Walk for Life on Sunday, Oct. 20, beginning at noon. Gather at St. Pius X Church for a one-mile walk which will include a brief prayer service at the Tomb of the Unborn at St. Sebastian’s Cemetery. For those unable to walk there will be 2 hours of Eucharistic Adoration from noon — 2 p.m., ending with Benediction. Following Benediction, a collation outside (weather permitting) will be held. St. Anthony Church to celebrate 75th Anniversary
NORTH PROVIDENCE — St. Anthony Church will celebrate its 75th anniversary on Sunday, Oct. 27. There will be an 11:30 a.m. celebratory Mass at the church, 1413 Mineral Spring Ave. It will be followed by a dinner from 1 – 5 p.m. at the Kirkbrae Country Club, 197 Old River Road, Lincoln. There will be music by Joe Vono featuring Toby Andrews. St. Vincent De Paul’s Harvest Bazaar Festival taking pork pie pre-orders
COVENTRY — St. Vincent De Paul Parish is now accepting pre-orders for their Harvest Bazaar Festival’s pork pies, which can be picked up during the Harvest Bazaar Festival, Nov. 9 and 10. October Devotions at St. Margaret Church
RUMFORD — St. Margaret Parish, 1098 Pawtucket Ave., will honor Mary, the Mother of God, during the month of October. Recitation of the rosary and Benediction of the Blessed Sacrament will be held every Thursday at 7 p.m. during October. All are welcome to join in prayer and reflection.
