The Visitation of the Missionary Image of Our Lady of Guadalupe
PROVIDENCE — The Missionary Image of Our Lady of Guadalupe will be visiting the diocese in various parishes throughout Rhode Island from now through Sunday, Feb. 5, 2023. The image is an exact replica of the original image of Our Lady which she left on the Tilma of St. Juan Diego in December 1531. The Missionary Images are known to have been associated with many miracles and healings. Knights to hold Boy Scout Pancake Breakfast fundraiser
PORTSMOUTH — The Knights of Columbus, with the local Boy Scout Troop 1, will hold a Boy Scout Breakfast fundraiser on Sunday, January 15, from 8 a.m. – noon in the St. Barnabas social hall, 1697 E. Main Road. Dine in and/or take out. Tickets can be purchased at the door or the offices of St. Barnabas, St. Anthony, and online at Kofc-3618.ticketleap.com/pancakes. Free for children under 6.
Are you interested in joining the West Bay Chorale?
WARWICK — West Bay Chorale will hold their spring 2023 season kickoff and registration meeting on Monday, January 16 at 7 p.m., with registration starting at 6:30 p.m. The meeting will take place at St. Kevin Church, 333 Sandy Lane. Current singers as well as those interested in joining the Chorale are invited to register and learn the details of the upcoming concert season. All current singers and those interested in joining must be vaccinated and boosted as recommended and everyone must show proof of vaccination. Masks will either be required or recommended, depending on Covid trends. In particular, the Chorale is seeking Soprano and Tenor voices. The next concert, “Earth and Sky” will be held May 7. Take-Out Thursday at Holy Angels
BARRINGTON — The Original Take-Out Thursday, a charity food sale and popular East Bay attraction, will be held on January 19 at Holy Angels Church. The carryout menu offers options of ham-lentil soup, a hearty meatloaf dinner and chourico and peppers sandwiches. Ordering is open for a limited time, while supplies last, and proceeds will benefit the efforts of the Holy Angels Social Outreach Ministry, whose mission is to provide for those in need. A Holy Mass for Life In Thanksgiving for the gift of life
PROVIDENCE — The diocesan Office of Life and Family Ministry will sponsor a Holy Mass for Life, in Thanksgiving for the gift of life, on Saturday, Jan. 21, 2023 at 9 a.m. in the Cathedral of Saints Peter and Paul. Bishop Thomas J. Tobin, will be the main celebrant and Father J. Joseph Brice, will be the homilist. Eucharistic Adoration at Our Lady of Fatima Church
CUMBERLAND — Our Lady of Fatima Church offers traditional Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament every Friday. The schedule is as follows: 2-5 p.m. — Exposition of the Most Blessed Sacrament; 5 p.m. — Holy Hour; 6 p.m.—Mass; 6:30 – 9 p.m. — Adoration and Benediction. There is also Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament with evening prayer and praise and worship music on January 28 and February 18, starting at 7:30 p.m.
