Virgin of Altagracia celebration to be held Jan. 20
PROVIDENCE —The Rhode Island Virgin of Altagracia Committee and the diocesan Multicultural Ministry will host a solemn Mass, Friday, January 20, at 7 p.m., in the Cathedral of SS. Peter and Paul. The solemn Mass will be celebrated in Spanish by Monsignor José Dolores Grullón Estrella, Bishop Emeritus of the Diocese of San Juan de la Maguana who is visiting from the Dominican Republic.
Celebrating the Life of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.
PROVIDENCE — All are welcome to an evening of prayer, song and celebration in honor of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.’s birthday. The event will take place on Monday, Jan. 23, 6:30 p.m., at St. Patrick Church, 244 Smith St. This event is sponsored by St. Patrick Church and the diocesan Office of Black Catholic Ministry. PORTSMOUTH — The next Mass for
Recovery will be celebrated on Sunday, Jan. 29, 5 p.m. at St. Barnabas Church, 1697 E. Main Road. These Masses, to which all are welcome, provide an opportunity for people to come together in faith to seek God’s loving kindness and grace with special prayer intentions dedicated for those in recovery. If you or loved ones struggle with alcohol, drugs, addictions, mental distress, or you support folks who suffer from the effects of these issues, you are encouraged to attend. Eucharistic Adoration at Our Lady of Fatima Church
CUMBERLAND — Our Lady of Fatima Church offers traditional Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament every Friday. The schedule is as follows: 2-5 p.m. — Exposition of the Most Blessed Sacrament; 5 p.m. — Holy Hour; 6 p.m.—Mass; 6:30 – 9 p.m. — Adoration and Benediction.
