The Chrism Mass
PROVIDENCE — The public and clergy are invited to attend the Chrism Mass on Monday, April 14, 6 p.m., at the Cathedral of Saints Peter & Paul. The celebrant and homilist will be Archbishop Richard G. Henning, S.T.D. At this Holy Mass the priests of the Diocese of Providence renew their priestly promises. The Archbishop will also consecrate and bless the sacred oils used in the sacramental rites of the church for the coming year. There will be an ASL Interpreter at Mass.
Knights to serve chowder and clam cakes Fridays in Lent
PAWTUCKET — Knights of Columbus will serve chowder and clam cakes at St. John Paul II Parish 745 Central Ave., Fridays during Lent, from 5 – 7 p.m., except on Good Friday. 40 Days for Life Lenten Campaign
PROVIDENCE — The 40 Days for Life Spring Campaign began on Ash Wednesday and runs through Sunday, April 13, with vigil hours every day at the public right-of-way outside the Planned Parenthood Providence abortion facility, 175 Broad St. The local campaign is coordinated by Rhode Island Right to Life and the diocesan Office of Life & Family Ministry. St. Francis of Assisi Parish Lenten Mission: Hope Does Not Disappoint
WAKEFIELD — St. Francis of Assisi Parish, 114 High St., will hold a Lenten Mission entitled “Hope Does Not Disappoint” on March 24, 25, 26, 6:30 p.m. Father Francis Xavier Eale of the Diocese of Kikwit in the Democratic Republic of Congo will deliver the mission talks. The schedule is as follows: Monday, March 24 — Talk; Tuesday, March 25 — Talk followed by adoration and reconciliation; Wednesday, March 26 — Jubilee Mass for the holy year ending with eucharistic procession.

Providence College 2025 Rodney K. Delasanta Lecture
PROVIDENCE — Christopher Stevens will be the speaker for the Providence College 2025 Rodney K. Delasanta Lecture, on Thursday, March 27, 4:30 p.m. in the Ruane Center for the Humanities Fiondella Great Room on the PC campus. The title of the lecture will be, “Leading Change in a Changing World.” Stevens is an associate teaching professor at the University of Notre Dame Inspired Leadership Initiative and Mendoza College of Business. He is the founder and CEO of CS74 Ventures, LLC and a co-developer of the Keurig Premium Coffee System. The lecture, sponsored by the Providence College Honors Program, is free and open to the public.

PROVIDENCE — A Lenten Day of Recollection will take place at the Cathedral of Saints Peter and Paul, 30 Fenner St., on Saturday, March 29, beginning at 10:45 a.m. and concluding with 5 p.m. Mass. Authors to speak on Our Lady of Guadalupe
JAMESTOWN/PROVIDENCE — All are welcome to take part in a spiritual and historical look at the miracle of Our Lady of Guadalupe, led by internationally renowned authors, Joseph and Monique Gonzalez. They will lead attendees through history discovering how God prepared the indigenous people of Mexico to accept and embrace the message of Our Blessed Mother in 1531.
