PC announces Rodney K. Delasanta Lecture
PROVIDENCE — Jessica Hooten Wilson, Ph.D., will be the speaker for this year’s 2023 Rodney K. Delasanta Lecture to be held on Thursday, April 13, at 4:30 p.m. in the Fiondella Great Room at the Ruane Center for the Humanities, Providence College. The topic of Wilson’s talk will be “How Flannery O’Connor Transfigures Her Readers’ Imagination.” The lecture, sponsored by the Providence College Honors Program, is free and open to the public.
Knights of Columbus to host Pilgrimage
NARRAGANSETT — The Knights of Columbus and St. Thomas More Parish will host a pilgrimage to St. Mary’s Church, New Haven, and the Blessed Michael McGivney Pilgrimage Center on April 15. Mass will be celebrated at St. Mary’s along with veneration at the tomb of Father Michael McGivney. Lunch and tour of the Pilgrimage Center will follow. Father Marcel Taillon will be the spiritual leader for the pilgrimage. Join us and learn about the young parish priest who initiated the Knights of Columbus and pray for his intercession. Knights to host Portuguese Breakfast
NORTH KINGSTOWN — The Knights of Columbus will hold a Portuguese Breakfast at the Council Hall, 1265 Tower Hill Road, North Kingstown, on Sunday, April 16, from 7:30 to 10:30 a.m. Scrambled eggs, Portuguese-style potatoes, linguica, chourico, baked beans, massa-traditional Portuguese sweetbread, grilled hash, orange juice, coffee and tea will be served.

Catholic Men's Conference
PROVIDENCE — The Diocese of Providence invites all priests, deacons, and other Catholic men to the Men's Conference, April 22, at the Cathedral of SS. Peter and Paul with Catholic speaker Chris Mueller. The morning will begin with Holy Mass celebrated by Bishop Thomas J. Tobin at 8:30 a.m., followed by talks, food, fellowship and much more. Free parking is available in the Cathedral lots.
Free Outdoor Music at St. Thomas the Apostle Church
WARREN — St. Thomas the Apostle Church, 500 Metacom Ave., will host their first in a series of free musical entertainers outside on Sunday, April 23. Gary James Farias perform from 1-4 p.m. The kitchen will be open selling sandwiches and beverages or you may bring your own. There will be an opportunity to purchase tickets for a raffle and 50/50 split the pot drawing.
Priests for Justice to be honored at Madonna Della Strada Awards dinner
BOSTON — The Ignatian Volunteer Corps (IVC) will honor the Providence-based Priests for Justice at this year's annual Madonna Della Strada Awards dinner on Sunday, April 23 at Boston College High School, Boston, Mass. Every year, IVC honors individuals or groups who exemplify the values of serving the poor and marginalized and working for social justice. The Priests for Justice include Father Robert Beirne, Father Gerry Harbor, Father Richard Maynard, Father Eugene McKenna, Father Farrell McLaughlin, and Father Ray Tetreault, who recently passed away. The event begins with a Mass at 4 p.m., concelebrated by the Priests for Justice, and followed by a dinner.
