Save the Date: Holy Mass of Installation for Most Rev. Bruce A. Lewandowski, C.Ss.R.

PROVIDENCE — You are invited to the Holy Mass of Installation for Most Rev. Bruce A. Lewandowski, C.Ss.R., to be celebrated Tuesday, May 20, 2025, at 2 p.m. (procession to begin at 1:30 p.m.), in the Cathedral of Saints Peter and Paul, Providence. Archbishop Richard G. Henning to celebrate Chrism Mass
PROVIDENCE — All are invited to attend the Chrism Mass on Monday, April 14, 6 p.m., at the Cathedral of SS. Peter & Paul. The celebrant and homilist will be Archbishop Richard G. Henning, S.T.D. At this Holy Mass the priests of the Diocese of Providence renew their priestly promises. The archbishop will also consecrate and bless the sacred oils used in the sacramental rites of the church for the coming year. There will be an ASL Interpreter at Mass.

Portuguese Breakfast
NORTH KINGSTOWN — The Knights of Columbus will hold a Portuguese breakfast at the council hall, 1265 Tower Hill Road, on Sunday, April 13, from 7:30 - 10:30 a.m. The menu will include scrambled eggs, Portuguese-style potatoes, linguica, chourico, baked beans, massa-traditional Portuguese sweetbread, traditional Portuguese rice pie, orange juice, coffee and tea.
Malassadas sale to benefit St. Barnabas youth mission trip
PORTSMOUTH — St. Barnabas Church, 1697 East Main St., will be selling freshly made Malassadas from 8 a.m. until 12 p.m. on Sunday, April 13. You can purchase them by the dozen or just a single. Malassadas will be available in the church hall. All are welcome. Proceeds from sales will go to support the St. Barnabas youth mission trip.
40 Days for Life Lenten Campaign
PROVIDENCE — The 40 Days for Life Spring Campaign began on Ash Wednesday and runs through Sunday, April 13, with vigil hours every day at the public right-of-way outside the Planned Parenthood Providence abortion facility, 175 Broad St. The local campaign is coordinated by Rhode Island Right to Life and the diocesan Office of Life & Family Ministry.

Silent Witness: Mary Magdalene’s Lament
NORTH SCITUATE — “Silent Witness: Mary Magdalene’s Lament” will take place on April 16, 7:30 p.m., in St. Joseph’s Church, 151 Danielson Pike. This is a deeply moving Tenebrae service that invites the audience into the Passion of Christ through the eyes of Mary Magdalene. Set in a dimly lit sanctuary with 15 candles, each extinguished one by one, this solemn reflection unfolds in 15 sections, tracing Jesus’ journey from his anointing at Bethany to the silence of the tomb. With poignant narration, heartfelt monologues, and evocative music, this service immerses participants in the sorrow, devotion, and longing of one who loved and followed Jesus to the very end. As the final candle is extinguished, the congregation departs in silence, left to contemplate the weight of His sacrifice and the hope that lingers in the darkness.
Stations of the Cross on Ocean Road
NARRAGANSETT — St. Thomas More Parish invites all parishioners and friends at noon on Good Friday, April 18 at St. Thomas More Church, 53 Rockland St., as the cross is carried though the streets of Narragansett as a re-enactment of Jesus’ final journey to Calvary. The walk will take place outside via Ocean Road, along the sea wall and under the Narragansett Towers. This is a rain or shine event. All are welcome to join the procession. First Friday Adoration
PROVIDENCE — The First Friday Eucharistic Adoration will be offered for the Jubilee Year of Hope and for Vocations to the priesthood and religious life in the diocese. Adoration is a quiet time spent in prayer before Jesus present in the Eucharist. Join on the First Friday of each month from 12:30 p.m. - 3 p.m. in the Cathedral of Saints Peter and Paul, for: Exposition of the Blessed Sacrament, 12:30 p.m.; Recitation of the Holy Rosary, 2 p.m.; Divine Mercy Chaplet, 2:45 p.m.; concluding at 3 p.m. with Reposition. Vocational Retreat in Spanish
PROVIDENCE — A Vocations Retreat is being offered in Spanish for young men ages 18 to 34 who may feel called to the Priesthood and may want to know more about a path of discernment. Warwick Parishes to celebrate milestone anniversaries with Masses, special event
WARWICK — On May 4, St. Rita Church will celebrate their 90th anniversary St. Timothy Church will celebrate their 75th anniversary. The day will begin with 9 a.m. Mass at St. Timothy, 1799 Warwick Ave., and with 10:30 a.m. Mass at St. Rita Church, 722 Oakland Beach Ave., followed by a dinner/dance at 1 p.m. at the Crowne Plaza, 301 Greenwich Ave., Warwick. Both churches have been a cornerstone of the community since their founding, Saint Rita in 1935 and St. Timothy in 1950 and this milestone is a testament to the faith and dedication of our parishioners. Good Friday Walk
PAWTUCKET — Join St. John the Baptist Church on a four mile walk to feed the hungry and shelter the homeless. The day will begin with a blessing and end with grilled cheese ‘n chowder for all walkers.
