St. Augustine Knights, Men of St. Joseph to host First Devotion Saturday
PROVIDENCE — The St. Augustine Council Knights of Columbus, Men of St. Joseph and Relevant Radio will host The First Devotion on Saturday, May 7. The event will begin with confessions from 3:45 p.m. - 5 p.m., and feature the rosary in music and song at 4 p.m., private meditation on the mysteries of the rosary at 4:30 p.m., and Holy Mass at 5 p.m. The fifth and final devotion of 2022 will take place on June 4. St. Augustine Church is located at 20 Old Road, at the corner of Mt. Pleasant Avenue.
First Five Saturdays at Mount Carmel
BRISTOL — The Knights of Columbus and the Faith group at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Parish’s morning Masses are following the Blessed Mother’s direction (at Fatima) regarding the first five Saturdays devotion. This includes going to confession, receiving Holy Communion, praying the rosary and meditating on or around the Saturday of five consecutive months in order to receive additional graces necessary for salvation.
Memorial Mass planned
CENTRAL FALLS — A memorial Mass will be offered in memory of Arch Deacon George Yany, Leo Larivee and Charles Fleurant and for all previous deceased members of Knights of Columbus Sullivan Council 2700. Father Stephen Battey will offer the Mass at the Knights of Columbus Hall at 20 Claremont St., at 6:30 p.m., on May 3. All members and their families and friends are welcome. 
Knights of Columbus to hold pro-life rose sale 
EAST BAY CHURCHES — Long-stem red roses will be available after Masses on Saturday & Sunday, May 8 and 9 — Mother’s Day weekend at Our Lady of Mount Carmel, Saint Thomas, Saint Elizabeth, and other East Bay Churches All proceeds from the sale will benefit Catholic, pro-life Mother of Life Pregnancy Center in Providence (motheroflife.org). The Center provides free pregnancy tests, ultrasounds, counseling, parenting classes, material goods for babies & moms, and much more. The suggested donation is $3 per rose. Also, you may pre-order 25-rose bundles online under the Events tab at motheroflife.org/donate
 
Adoration and witness at St. Thomas More
NARRAGANSETT — Please join us on Sunday, May 1st at 7 p.m. at St. Thomas More Church for Adoration and a Witness talk from Patrick McQuade. Now a Private Wealth Advisor at Morgan Stanley in Boston, Patrick sustained life-changing injuries from a fall from a rooftop in South Boston in the summer of 2017. He’ll share his story of courage and recovery, and how his unexpected journey led him to the psychological phenomenon of Post-Traumatic Growth. Patrick’s is a story of how great human suffering can lead to great learning - and how faith, family,  and redemption can provide a framework to grapple with trauma. A Toast to Life and Liberty
WESTERLY — Area Respect Life committees will meet for an inspirational, relaxed and informational evening at St. Clare Parish Center, 4 St. Clare Way, on May 4 beginning at 6 p.m. with a “Meet and Greet,” followed by three prominent local speakers. Barth E. Bracy, executive director of Rhode Island Right to Life, will speak on legislative strategies based on the theme: “Pray globally; act locally.” He will discuss current prolife strategies of Right to Life in R.I. regarding legislative initiatives. Lisa Cooley, Office of Life and Family coordinator for the Diocese of Providence, will discuss end of life issues from a Catholic perspective, health care mandates and religious liberty. Kiki Latimer will discuss local pastoral efforts and challenges at the Choices Women’s Pregnancy Office in Westerly. The evening will conclude with a Q & A. Come to toast life and religious liberty. St. James Addiction Recovery Ministries 
CHARLESTOWN — St. James Addiction Recovery Ministries, located at 2079 Matunuck School House Road. Vocations Retreat  for Middle School Boys
PROVIDENCE — The Office of Vocations will host a retreat for middle school boys on Saturday, May 7, from 9 a.m. - 3 p.m., at the Seminary of Our Lady of Providence. The retreat will include a coffee an’ welcome with families, Holy Mass, games and food, tour of the seminary, talks on priesthood and vocations and an opportunity to meet the seminarians. 50th Anniversary of the Marian Movement of Priests

Grief support group for those who have lost a spouse
WESTERLY — If you are searching for hope and peace after the death of your spouse, St. Pius X Church invites you to participate in the Season of Hope support group. This is a safe and nurturing place for you to join with others who share your faith in Christ to give voice to your unique journey of grief, and to find comfort and spiritual renewal. May Breakfast
NORTH PROVIDENCE —The Holy Name Society of St. Anthony Church will hold a May Breakfast on Saturday, May 7, from 8 – 11 a.m. in the parish center, 1413 Mineral Spring Ave. The breakfast will feature the following: scrambled eggs, home fries, bacon, ham, baked beans, breakfast pastries, Juice, coffee and tea. May devotions to honor Mary at St. Agnes
PROVIDENCE — St. Agnes Church, 351 Branch Ave., will host May devotions to honor our Blessed Mother on Monday, May 9 at 7 p.m. The evening will include music, the Scriptural Rosary and will conclude with Exposition and Benediction.
Our Lady of Sorrows Bereavement Support meetings scheduled
PROVIDENCE —The Office of Life and Family ministry for the Diocese of Providence will offer the Our Lady of Sorrows Bereavement Support group at St. Pius V Church, 240 Eaton St. Our Lady of Sorrows will be offered over eight consecutive Thursday evenings 7-8:30 p.m., May 12 through June 30. The group will be facilitated by the St. Pius V Bereavement Ministry, which will provide a peaceful place to share your thoughts, feelings and experiences, while discussing topics about loss, grief, the healing process, and about the spiritual comfort of our Catholic faith. This group is most appropriate for adults at least three months beyond their loss. There is no cost to attend. Preregistration is required. Please contact Pat Owen at 401-274-3854.

Masses for Recovery St. James Chapel
CHARLESTOWN — Ongoing monthly Masses for Recovery will be offered on the first Sunday of each month, now through June, 2 p.m. at St. James Chapel, 2079 Matunuck School House Road. These Masses, to which all are welcome, provide an opportunity for people to come together in faith to seek God’s loving kindness and grace with special prayer intentions dedicated for those in recovery. If you or loved ones struggle with alcohol, drugs, addictions, mental distress, or support folks who suffer from the effects of these issues, you are encouraged to attend. Discussion series for Catholic singles
PROVIDENCE — St. Pius V announces a series for Catholic singles above the age of 30 on nurturing the faith while embracing the single vocation. Hope and Cope at  St. Barnabas Church
PORTSMOUTH — The St. Matthias Ministry Hope and Cope Support Group will meet on Sunday, May 15, from 5 - 6 p.m. in the Chapel Meeting Room, under the small Chapel, at St. Barnabas Church, 1697 E. Main Road. If you know someone who is supporting a loved one or friend in need of recovery or currently in recovery yourself, then this group is for you. St. Francis Xavier Academy Homecoming announced
WARWICK — St. Francis Xavier Academy Alumnae Association will hold a homecoming on October 23, 2022 with 11 a.m. Mass at St. Timothy Church, followed immediately by lunch at the Crowne Plaza. This year, due to prior Covid restrictions, the classes of 1970, 1971 and 1972 will be honored. Gold rosaries are blessed and distributed to graduates during Mass.
