Chopstick Auction
CUMBERLAND — The Historic St Joseph’s Church, 1303 Mendon Road, will host a chopstick auction in the church hall on Friday May 9, 7 p.m. Doors open at 6 p.m. The tickets will be sold at the door to be eligible to win 100 prizes. Light refreshments for sale as well as large split the pot raffle.
Knights of Columbus to hold Boys Town of New England Pancake Breakfast Fundraiser
PORTSMOUTH — The Knights of Columbus with the local Boys Town of New England will hold a pancake breakfast fundraiser on Sunday, May 18 from 8 a.m. - noon at the St. Barnabas social hall, 1697 E Main Road. Breakfast will include pancakes, eggs, sausage, potatoes, coffee, juice, and water. Dine in and/or take out. All proceeds and donations will go directly to Boys Town. The Beauty and Truth of Catholic Teaching on End-of-Life Issues
COVENTRY — In this three-part series, Dr. Peter Colosi and other guest speakers will present the fullness of Catholic teaching on suffering, death, and dying, and explain the false premises of the euthanasia and physician assisted suicide movements, to better understand and carry out Christ’s mandate to care for the sick and dying in a manner that honors God and respects the dignity of persons. Three consecutive Tuesday evenings from 6:30 - 8 p.m. at Saints John and Paul Parish Center, 341 S Main St. The schedule is as follows: Tuesday, June 3: Catholic Teaching on End-of-Life Issues vs Euthanasia; Tuesday, June 10: The Catholic Perspective on End-of-Life Documents and Funeral Arrangements; Tuesday, June 17: A Catholic Understanding of Redemptive Suffering and Dying vs The Lila Manfield Sapinsley Compassionate Care Act. Light refreshments will be provided as well as plenty of time for Q&A. A free will offering will be accepted to offset the cost of this program. Saint Raphael Academy Concludes Yearlong Centennial Celebration with Gala
PAWTUCKET — Alumni and friends of Saint Raphael Academy are cordially invited to the Centennial Celebration Gala, at Rhodes on the Pawtuxet June 21. The festivities will begin at 6 p.m., and include a cocktail hour, an auction, dinner and dancing, and lots of time to relive memories from Saints’ first 100 years. Tickets are now on sale on the school website: saintrays.org/100-years/events. Sponsorship opportunities are also available.

EAST PROVIDENCE — Our Lady of Loreto Church, 346 Waterman Ave., will host a Spring Breakfast on Sunday, May 18, 9 a.m. – noon. Bring the family or bring a friend and join for a morning of food and fun. The menu will include ham, sausage, eggs, home fries, baked beans, pancakes, breakfast pastries, coffee, tea & juice. Prison Ministry seeking volunteers
RHODE ISLAND — There are over 500 Rhode Island Catholics in our prison system -there is a great need to support our clergy who serve in prison ministry through prayer groups, communion services, and post-incarceration ministries.
