Support group for those who have lost a spouse
WESTERLY — If you are searching for hope and peace after the death of your spouse, St. Pius X Church invites you to participate in the Season of Hope support group. This is a safe and nurturing place for you to join with others who share your faith in Christ to give voice to your unique journey of grief, and to find comfort and spiritual renewal. Bereavement Support meetings scheduled
PROVIDENCE — The Office of Life and Family Ministry for the Diocese of Providence will offer the Our Lady of Sorrows Bereavement Support group at St. Pius V Church, 240 Eaton St. Our Lady of Sorrows will be offered over eight consecutive Thursday evenings, 7-8:30 p.m., now through June 30. The group will be facilitated by the St. Pius V Bereavement Ministry, which will provide a peaceful place to share your thoughts, feelings and experiences, while discussing topics about loss, grief, the healing process, and about the spiritual comfort of our Catholic faith. St. Augustine School Alumni Mass
PROVIDENCE — A St. Augustine School Alumni Mass will be held Saturday, May 21, at 5 p.m. at St. Augustine Church, 635 Mount Pleasant Ave., in celebration of the school’s 70th Anniversary. NORTH PROVIDENCE — A ceremony will be held recognizing the law enforcement and first responders from the region as the community celebrates National Police Week, on Sunday, May 22, 10:30 a.m., at Mary Mother of Mankind Church, 25 Fourth St. Fire trucks and ambulances will be part of the ceremony, along with a color guard from the Rhode Island State Police.
Knights to hold annual ‘Kandi Drive’
PORTSMOUTH — The local Council 3618 of the Knight of Columbus will hold their annual Kandi (Tootsie Roll) Drive on Friday, June 3 from 4-8 p.m. and Saturday, June 4, from 9-3 p.m. in front of Clement’s Market, 2575 East Main Road. One hundred percent of the proceeds from this event go to the James L. Maher Center in Middletown, which fosters independence, opportunity, employment and social engagement for people with developmental and other disabilities through customized programs designed to meet their individual needs.

Sacred Heart Church to host Golf Tournament
WARWICK — Sacred Heart Church will hold a golf tournament on Monday, June 27, at Valley Country Club, beginning with a putting contest at 11 a.m., followed by lunch at 11:30 a.m. Lunch will consist of hot dogs, hamburgers (all grilled outside), chips, soda, and water.
