St. Pius V to host Summer Faith Formation for Adults
PROVIDENCE — During July, St. Pius V Church will host two small-group video-and-discussion series led by Br. Dominic Koester, O.P. The first, titled “The Search,” has two showings, 11:00 a.m. and 7:00 p.m. on Tuesdays. Join in the search for answers to the deepest questions about life and death, sorrow and happiness, science and faith. The second, titled “Who Am I to Judge?” is held at 9:00 a.m. on Saturdays. PROVIDENCE — A Covid-Memorial concert, hosted by Ensemble Altera (Altera), a leading American chamber choir, will take place at Blessed Sacrament Church, 239 Regent Ave., on Sunday, July 11, 8 p.m. The concert will draw on penitential end-of-life, death, rest and remembrance themes with a repertoire spanning Purcell to Esenvalds, including a new work to amplify the voices of emerging composers.
Masses for Recovery St. Barnabas
PORTSMOUTH— The next Mass for Recovery will be offered on Sunday, July 25, 5 p.m., in the chapel meeting room, under the chapel, at St. Barnabas Church, 1697 E. Main Road. These Masses, to which all are welcome, provide an opportunity for people to come together in faith to seek God’s loving kindness and grace with special prayer intentions dedicated for those in recovery. Father Robert Randall to celebrate his 70th anniversary of ordination
WAKEFIELD — Father Robert Randall will celebrate the 70th anniversary of his ordination to the priesthood at the 4:30 p.m. Mass on Saturday, July 31, at St. Francis of Assisi Church, 114 High St. The Mass will be followed by a wine and cheese reception.
St. Anthony Parish to hold annual feast
WEST WARWICK — St. Anthony Parish in West Warwick will host their annual feast on August 13, 14, and 15. The feast will begin Friday, August 13 at 11 a.m. with the sale of Fish and Chips, with normal activities beginning at 5 p.m. The feast will open on Saturday, August 14 at 5 p.m. On Sunday, August 15, malassadas will be sold at 10 a.m., Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m., and the procession will leave the parish grounds at 2 p.m. A variety of Portuguese and American food will be sold. Weekend entertainment by DJ John Bolarinho and on Saturday a special appearance by the Portuguese band Starlight.
