Jesus Saviour Church to hold summer bazaar
NEWPORT — Jesus Saviour Church will hold its annual summer bazaar on the Vernon Avenue grounds Thursday, July 28; Friday, July 29; and Saturday, July 30, from 5 – 11 p.m. each evening. The bazaar will feature raffles, bingo, pull tabs and booths, as well as games and a white elephant exchange. Homemade fava, chourico sandwiches and homemade pastries are the specialty of the kitchen each night.
SS. John & James to host appetizer contest
WEST WARWICK — SS. John and James Church will hold an appetizer contest on August 6 in the basement of the school immediately following the 4:30 p.m. Saturday Mass. Men of St. Joseph International to host Men’s Conference
PROVIDENCE — The Men of St. Joseph International will host a Men’s Conference on Saturday, Aug. 6, from 8 a.m. – 3:30 p.m., at the Cathedral of SS. Peter and Paul and McVinney Auditorium, 43 Dave Gavitt Way. The day will feature speakers Peter Herbeck and Father Christopher Murphy. Holy Mass will be celebrated by Bishop Thomas J. Tobin. The theme “Our Hope is in the Name of the Lord.” Ticket includes breakfast and lunch. Free parking is available in the cathedral lots. Advance Registration is required. Precious Blood Church to hold First Saturdays Devotion
WOONSOCKET — Precious Blood Church, 94 Carrington Ave., will offer the First Saturdays devotion in unity with Pope Francis’ recent Consecration of Russia and Ukraine to the Immaculate Heart of Mary, and to also make reparations for the blasphemies and outrages committed against her Immaculate Heart. The dates of the devotions are: Saturday, Aug. 6; Saturday, Sept. 3; Saturday, Oct. 1; and Saturday, Nov. 5. Holy Mass will begin at 8 a.m. Immediately following the Holy Mass the Rosary with scriptural meditation will be prayed. Mary Mother of Mankind to host Pot Luck Dinner
NORTH PROVIDENCE — Mary Mother of Mankind Church will host a multi-ethnic Pot Luck Dinner to benefit the parish parking lot on Saturday, Aug. 6, after the 4 p.m. Mass, in the parish hall. Tickets to dinner will be on sale after July 30/31 Sunday Masses or at the rectory. No tickets will be sold at the door. Deadline to purchase is August 3. Parishioners needed to make entrees, apps, salads.
Estate and Gift Planning Seminar scheduled
WESTERLY — Learn about estate and gift planning on Sunday, Aug. 7, from 11:45 a.m. – 1:15 p.m., at St. Pius X Church, 44 Elm St. Learn how to set up wills and trusts, and establish your power of attorney for medical and financial decisions and possibly avoid probate. Mass for God the Father of All Mankind
CRANSTON — The 18th annual Mass for God the Father of All Mankind will be held at St. Mary’s Church on Sunday, Aug. 7, 3 p.m. Parishioners from around the diocese may bring banners of their parish societies for this special Mass. Pasta dinner to benefit local seminarians
WOONSOCKET — The Woonsocket Knights of Columbus Council #113 will sponsor a benefit dinner to support Rhode Island seminarians on Saturday, Aug. 13 from 5-8 p.m., in St. Joseph's Church school auditorium, 1200 Mendon Road. Dinner will be pasta and meatballs, salad, garlic bread and dessert.
Mother of Life Pregnancy Center Annual Rose Gala
RIVERSIDE — The Center will host its biggest annual fundraiser on Thursday and Friday, August 18-19, 5:30–10 p.m. at the scenic Squantum Association, 947 Veterans Memorial Parkway, Riverside. Each evening will feature a cocktail hour and appetizers, a sit-down dinner, silent auction and paddle raise, and will feature moving testimonials by special guests sharing their pro-life stories, as well as dancing. St. Joseph Church plans La Salette Polish Pilgrimage Day
CENTRAL FALLS — St. Joseph Church’s annual Polish Pilgrimage to La Salette Shrine will take place on Sunday, Aug. 21. Pilgrims are invited to participate in the Mass for the pilgrims at 8 a.m., in Polish, at St. Joseph Church in Central Falls. The pilgrimage will leave the grounds at approximately 9 a.m. Confessions at the shrine will begin at 1:30 p.m. A Solemn Mass in honor of the Blessed Virgin Mary will start at 3 p.m. All are welcome to participate on this very special day of Polish family prayer. Diocesan Leadership Team Opportunity for youth
PROVIDENCE — Please consider inviting one or two of the youth of your parish to participate in the Diocesan Leadership Team Opportunity. Open to youth in grades 10-12 who live out their faith, are mature role models and demonstrate leadership qualities. Candidates must be available to meet roughly once per month at the Rejoice In Hope Youth Center in Cranston with a few extra meetings, including a retreat in the fall, to prepare for retreats/events. Candidates must also be willing to help at approximately one diocesan event per month, such as Diocesan Youth Day, and multi-parish retreats, and will receive directed training to become servant leaders. An Afternoon of Music
WARREN — On August 21, St. Thomas the Apostle Church, 500 Metacom Ave., will hold an afternoon of music outside from 1-4 p.m. The band preforming will be 4'S Country with Joe LePage, Rick Pacheco, Gary Farias and Scott Frost. The kitchen will be open selling sandwiches, malassadas and beverages. There will be tickets sold for a 50/50 split the pot and a raffle. A representative of Paparazzi Jewelry will be on hand selling jewelry. Bring your lawn chairs or use one of ours.
Rachel’s Vineyard Retreat ‘Hope and Healing Support Group’
PROVIDENCE — The Office of Life and Family Ministry of the Diocese of Providence is offering a Rachel’s Vineyard Retreat ‘Hope and Healing Support Group’ on Saturday, August 27, from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. at St. Pius V Church, 240 Eaton St., Providence. This support group is specifically designed for women who have gone through a Rachel’s Vineyard Retreat. Diocesan Youth Day
CUMBERLAND — Diocesan Youth Day will be held on Saturday, September 10, from 11 a.m. – 8 p.m., on the Our Lady of Fatima Church property, 1 Fatima Dr. The theme chosen is “I Am.” The day will include a keynote and two rounds of three workshops.
