Bilingual Praise and Solidarity Night

PROVIDENCE— Join Bishop Bruce Lewandowski, Sister Juana Maria of the Holy Spirit, C.F.R., Father Gildardo Suarez, and the Hispanic Choir of the Diocese of Providence for a bilingual praise and solidarity night. This event, benefiting the poorest served by Catholic Relief Services, will be held Friday, August 29, at McVinney Auditorium, 43 Dave Gavitt Way. St. Mary’s Bristol Hosts Jubilee Celebration

BRISTOL — St. Mary’s Parish will host a Jubilee Year Celebration on Saturday, August 30. The day will begin at 2 p.m. with a pilgrimage walk and prayer service on the grounds of the St. Columban’s Residence, 65 Ferry Road in Bristol. The celebration will then move to St. Mary’s Church, 330 Wood St., for quiet prayer and reflection beginning at 3:15 p.m. Confessions will be available. A Jubilee Holy Year Mass will begin at 4:00 p.m., followed by an outdoor social hour on the parish grounds.

Our Lady of Fatima Feast

CUMBERLAND— Enjoy the annual Our Lady of Fatima Feast, a free event with food, music, and fun for all ages! The festivities will take place at Our Lady of Fatima Church, 1 Fatima Drive, (off High Street, Cumberland). The feast runs from 5:00 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. on Friday, August 29, Saturday, August 30, and Sunday, August 31. Grief Retreat Day for Perinatal Loss

PROVIDENCE — The Office of Life and Family will offer a Hope & Healing Retreat to accompany and guide individuals and couples through the trauma of child loss due to miscarriage, stillbirth, poor prenatal diagnosis, illness, or unexpected loss. The retreat will be held on Saturday, Aug. 30, in the lower level of St. Pius V Church, 240 Eaton St., from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. There will be holy Mass at 8 a.m. The fee includes morning refreshments and lunch. St. John Baptist Yard Sale

PAWTUCKET— St. John Baptist Church, 69 Quincy Ave, will hold an outdoor Yard Sale on the grounds at the corner of Slater St and Quincy Ave on Saturday, August 30, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. The event will be held rain or shine and will feature something for everyone at reasonable prices. Pupusas and Tostadas will also be available for purchase.

Human Life Guild Awards Nominations Due Soon

PROVIDENCE— Nominations for the 2025 Human Life Guild Awards are due on Friday, September 5. These awards are presented annually on Human Life Guild Day to outstanding Catholic individuals, from high school age to adults, who embody the spirit of “People of Life.” The awards will be given out following the Human Life Guild Day Mass, Saturday, Oct. 4 at 9 a.m. at the Cathedral of SS. Jubilee Year Diocesan Pilgrimage to the Cathedral

PROVIDENCE — The Office of the Apostolate with People with Disabilities, the Deaf Community, and family and friends are gathering on Saturday, September 6 from 11:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. in the Cathedral of Saints Peter and Paul, for a Jubilee Year Diocesan Pilgrimage. Bishop Bruce A. Lewandowski, C.Ss.R., will celebrate Holy Mass, with Msgr. Gerard O. Sabourin, parish administrator of the St. Kateri Tekakwitha Catholic Community, Exeter, concelebrating. The pilgrimage includes Adoration, Confession, Rosary, Holy Mass, and a reception. This Mass will be accessible for all and will include: parking at entrance near elevator, Braille and large print Mass programs, sensory-friendly space, and an ASL Interpreter. West Bay Chorale Open Rehearsals and Auditions

WARWICK— The West Bay Chorale will hold open rehearsals and auditions for new singers at St. Kevin Church, 333 Sandy Lane, on Monday, September 8, and Monday, September 22, 2025. Registration and auditions for the fall season will begin at 6 p.m. Singers in all sections are needed, and a paid tenor position is available. National Day of Remembrance for Aborted Children Prayer Vigils

EAST PROVIDENCE/CUMBERLAND — On Saturday, September 13, solemn gatherings dedicated to prayerfully remembering all babies lost to abortion, miscarriage, stillbirth, or infants that have died after birth will take place at two locations. The first will be at Gate of Heaven Cemetery, 550 Wampanoag Trail, East Providence at 10 a.m. with Bishop Thomas J. Tobin. The second will be at Resurrection Cemetery, 261 W. Adoration at Aldrich

PROVIDENCE— Join Bishop Lewandowski for an outdoor evening of candlelight prayer and worship before the Lord in the Most Blessed Sacrament on Thursday, September 18, on the lawn behind Aldrich Mansion. The event begins with check-in at 6 p.m., followed by music at 6:30 p.m., and Adoration at 7 p.m. Light refreshments will be available at 8 p.m. before the evening concludes at 9 p.m. This is a free event with only 400 spots available, so register today at

Healing Retreat

PASCOAG— The St. Eugene Church/St. Joseph Church Militia of the Immaculata will be hosting a Healing Retreat focused on “Experiencing God’s love and knowing who you are to God” at the St. Joseph Church Parish Hall, 183 Sayles Avenue. The retreat will be held on Friday, September 19, from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m.; Saturday, September 20, from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m.; and Sunday, September 21, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Registration Requred and includes guest presenter Father David Mary Engo, meals, four presentations, guided meditations, quiet time for prayer and journaling, and a healing Mass. This retreat is open to everybody.

Tour of Saint Joseph Cemetery

NEWPORT— The public is invited to take a free tour of the historic Saint Joseph Cemetery (also known as the Barney Street Cemetery) with the Museum of Newport Irish History on Saturday, September 20, at 1 p.m. Located at the corner of Barney and Mt. Vernon Streets, this is the oldest Catholic cemetery in Rhode Island and the site of the state’s first Catholic church. Participants will learn about this site, the “birthplace” of the diocese’s oldest Parish. The tour is given by local historian and guide, Steve Marino, weather permitting. Free Outdoor Movie Night

WARWICK— Join the St. Rose and Clement Youth Ministry for a Free Outdoor Movie Night on Friday, September 26, from 7:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. at St. Rose and Clement Church, 111 Long Street. They will be showing the movie “UP.” The movie will start promptly at 7:30 p.m. and attendees are encouraged to bring their own lawn chairs or blankets. Popcorn and waters will be available for purchase, with all proceeds to benefit the SSRC Youth Ministry.

Healthy vs. Unhealthy Relationships: Awareness, Prevention, and Empowerment

WESTERLY— St. Pius X Church, 45 Elm St., will host a presentation by Dr. Sharon O’Brien, PhD, on Friday, October 3, from 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Dr. O’Brien, from the Interfaith Community Against Domestic Violence, will speak on how to recognize and prevent domestic violence and unhealthy relationships. Adoration will follow the presentation at 8 p.m. The location is handicap accessible; park in the upper lot on Elm Street. or in the extra lot on Cross St.

Second Annual Great Marian Procession

PROVIDENCE— Join Bishop Bruce A. Lewandowski, C.Ss.R., for the Second Annual Great Marian Procession on Saturday, Oct. 18. The procession begins at 9 a.m. from St. Mary Church, 538 Broadway, and will proceed to the Cathedral of Saints Peter and Paul, 30 Fenner St.. Bishop Lewandowski will celebrate Holy Mass at the Cathedral, followed by fellowship in the Lower Cathedral. All Marian advocates in the diocese are welcome to participate. Walk for Life

WESTERLY— The Walk for Life will take place at St. Pius X Church, 44 Elm Street, on Sunday, October 19, from 12 p.m. to 2 p.m. The event will begin in the church with the opening of Eucharistic Adoration, which will continue for those who choose not to walk. Walkers will then assemble in front of the church and proceed to St. Sebastian Cemetery, where a priest will lead a short prayer service at the Tomb of the Unborn. The group will then process back to St. Pius church for Benediction. Walkers are welcome to bring beautiful signs, but please no graphic ones.
