Honoring local first responders on the anniversary of 9/11
NORTH PROVIDENCE — Mary Mother of Mankind Church, 25 Fourth St., will host a ceremony honoring the law enforcement and first responders from the region in recognition 20th anniversary of 9/11. This event will be held on Sunday, Sept. 12, 10:30 a.m. and will recognize the daily sacrifices and personal commitment of those who serve the community and to ask for God’s blessing. Firetrucks, ambulances and ambulances will be part of the ceremony, along with a color guard from the Rhode Island State Police.

Diocesan Youth Day
CUMBERLAND — The 2021 Diocesan Youth Day will take place on September 11, from 11 a.m. – 8 p.m., at Our Lady of Fatima Church, 1 Fatima Drive. This year’s theme is “Empowered,” and will welcome special musical guest Cooper Ray. The day will include music, games, workshops, Mass, adoration, sacrament of reconciliation, food, fun and more. Silver Rose pilgrimage to visit St. Joseph Church
WOONSOCKET — Each year, from early March to mid-December, the Silver Rose makes a pilgrimage from Canada through the United States to Mexico, stewarded by the Knights of Columbus Councils. During each stop of the journey a rosary is said in respect for the dignity of human life, in honor of Our Lady. This year, the Silver Rose will make a stop at St. Joseph’s Church, 1200 Mendon Road, on Thursday, Sept. 9 at 7 p.m., with the celebration of Mass. All are invited to attend.

St. Agatha Church to host yard sale
WOONSOCKET — St. Agatha Church will hold a yard sale in the church hall, corner of Logee Street and Fairfield Avenue, September 9-11, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. each day.

Little Sisters to hold indoor yard sale
PAWTUCKET — The Little Sisters of the Poor Jeanne Jugan Residence, 964 Main St., will host an indoor yard sale on Friday and Saturday, Sept. 10-11, from 9 a.m. - 2 p.m. The two-day sale will include furniture, home décor, jewelry, housewares and more. All proceeds will support the mission of the Little Sisters. Covid-19 prevention protocols will be in effect, including screening before entry and capacity restrictions. Face coverings are required. Polish Family Festival
CENTRAL FALLS — A Polish Family Festival will be held in the parking lot of St. Joseph’s Church, 391 High St., on Friday, Sept. 10, from 6 p.m. – 12 a.m.; Saturday, Sept. 11, from 6 p.m. – 12 a.m.; and Sunday, Sept. 12, from 12 – 6 p.m. Polish Food will be available inside the parish center, located right across the street from the church. There will be various raffles, pastry booth, prizes and pictures with Santa. There is no admission charge. Please use a mask. Knights to host breakfast
NORTH KINGSTOWN — The Knights of Columbus will hold a breakfast at the council hall, 1265 Tower Hill Road, on Sunday, Sept. 12, from 7:30 to 10:30 a.m.

Preparing for the End of Life: A Consideration and Conversation of Catholic Teachings
PORTSMOUTH — The St. Barnabas Respect Life Ministry will host an informative evening for all Catholics and those interested in educating themselves on Catholic teaching on Euthanasia and Physician Assisted Suicide in Rhode Island, featuring Dr. Peter J. Colosi and Dr. Timothy P. Flanigan. The event will take place on Wednesday, Sept. 15, 7 p.m. in St. Barnabas church hall, 1697 East Main Road. Light refreshments will be available. St. Ambrose Church to host second Drive-Thru Clambake
ALBION — St. Ambrose Church, 191 School St., will hold its second Drive-Thru Clambake on Sunday, Sept. 12, on the church grounds from noon – 4 p.m. (rain or shine). Portsmouth Knights to host the Silver Rose
PORTSMOUTH — The Knights of Columbus Council 3618 in Portsmouth, will host a Silver Rose Prayer Service at St. Barnabas Church on Saturday, Sept. 18, at 9 a.m. Through the Silver Rose, the Knights honor not only Our Lady of Guadalupe, but reaffirm our dedication to the sanctity of human life.

A Night of Music and Dancing
WARREN — St. Thomas the Apostle Church will host a dance on Saturday, Sept. 18, from 5:30 - 8:30 p.m. The music will be provided by the band “4’S Country.” The kitchen will be open selling limited sandwiches and soft drinks. If you prefer, you may bring your own food and beverages of your choice. There will be an admission charge at the door, but coffee, tea, and pastry are included. A silent auction, and raffle will be held. If you can, please bring a pastry to share.

Guest Speaker Mike Aquilina to visit St. Philip Church as part of diocesan anniversary celebration
GREENVILLE — As part of the 150th Anniversary celebration of the Diocese of Providence, Mike Aquilina will speak on Tuesday, Sept. 21, 7 p.m., at St. Philip Church. Aquilina, popular author of works on Catholic Church history will speak on St. Joseph and His Work: The Life of St. Joseph.” Book signing to follow. Indoor yard sale at Sacred Heart Church
WEST WARWICK — Sacred Heart Church, 820 Providence St., West Warwick, will hold a giant yard sale on September 25 from 7 a.m. – 4 p.m. in the church hall. Household, seasonal, toys, books, furniture, glassware, yard items, frames, jewelry, rugs, handbags, linen, clothing and much more will be featured. Masks are required.

Homecoming event canceled for St. Francis Xavier Academy Alumnae Association
