Human Life Guild Day

PROVIDENCE — The 2025 Human Life Guild Day, titled “Together we renew our commitment to life,” is scheduled for Saturday, Oct. 4, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Cathedral of Saints Peter and Paul. The event kicks off with a Holy Mass at 9 a.m., celebrated by Rev. Michael J. Najim, pastor, St. Philip Parish, Greenville, and Vicar for Priests for the Diocese of Providence, followed by the presentation of the Human Life Guild Awards. Attendees will then move to the lower Cathedral for brunch and two informative presentations. The first talk is “Medication Abortion: Myths and Misadventures” by Christina Cirucci, M.D., and the second is “Catholic Response to Domestic Abuse: Hope, Help and Healing” by Sharon O’Brien, Ph.D. Ticket includes the brunch and all presentations. Pasta Dinner

EAST PROVIDENCE — An event sponsored by Our Lady of Loreto Church will be held on October 4, at 346 Waterman Ave. The event, which begins with dinner at 6 p.m. and ends with raffles at 8 p.m., will include ziti & meatballs, tossed salad, garlic bread, dessert, and bottled water. Second Annual Great Marian Procession

PROVIDENCE — The second Great Marian Procession, led by Bishop Bruce A. Lewandowski, C.Ss.R., will begin at 9 a.m. on Saturday, Oct. 18 from St. Mary Church, 538 Broadway, and processes to the Cathedral of Saints Peter and Paul, 30 Fenner Street, Providence, where Bishop Lewandowski will celebrate Holy Mass followed by fellowship, gathering in the Lower Cathedral. This special event welcomes the participation of every Marian advocate in the diocese — including parishes, schools, Catholic organizations, students, families and individuals. Following the Example of St. Francis of Assisi

PROVIDENCE — A free event sponsored by the St. Clare of Assisi Fraternity of the Secular Franciscans will be held on Saturday, Sept. 27, at St. Patrick’s Church, 244 Smith St. The event, which begins with Mass at 9 a.m. and ends with lunch around noon, will teach participants how to grow closer to Jesus by following the example of St. Francis. NARRAGANSETT — Mother of Life pregnancy resource center will host its annual fundraiser on Sunday, Sept. 28, 4 p.m., at The Dunes Club. Magnificat plans Pilgrimage Day Trip

SMITHFIELD — Magnificat is hosting a special pilgrimage trip on October 1. The trip has two destinations: The St. Anne Arts and Cultural Center in Rhode Island, where you’ll see North America’s largest collection of fresco paintings and enjoy a hot lunch buffet. The Missionary Shrine of our Lady of Fatima in Holliston, Mass., for a Rosary, Adoration, and Meditation. You can also see the world’s largest rosary sculpture. Shrine of the Little Flower Feast of St. Therese of Lisieux

NASONVILLE — The Shrine of the Little Flower will celebrate the Feast of St. Therese of Lisieux on Wednesday, Oct. 1 beginning at 8 a.m. with the Rosary followed by Mass, a procession, coffee an’, a talk and Holy Hour. Confession will be available during Holy Hour. The Shrine is pleased to welcome Father Jay Finelli, pastor of Holy Ghost Church in Tiverton, and son of Jerry & Shirley Finelli, the Shrine’s first coordinators, as the speaker. Transitus of St. Francis

PROVIDENCE — St. Patrick Church, 244 Smith St., will hold a Transitus Service (the passing of St. Francis to eternal life) on Thursday, Oct. 2 at 7 p.m. in the church. All are invited to participate. St. Francis of Assisi Triduum

WAKEFIELD — St. Francis Church, 114 High St., will celebrate the feast day of its patron saint with a Triduum from Thursday, Oct. 2, through Saturday, Oct. 4. The first two nights will feature a talk with adoration/benediction, and Saturday will include a Mass followed by a light reception. St. Thomas Music Ministry Concert

Walk for Life

WESTERLY — The Walk for Life will take place at St. Pius X Church, 44 Elm Street, on Sunday, Oct. 19, from 12 p.m. to 2 p.m. The event begins with the opening of Eucharistic Adoration, followed by a procession to St. Sebastian Cemetery, where a priest will lead a short prayer service at the Tomb of the Unborn. The group will then process back to the church for Benediction. Walkers are welcome to bring signs (not graphic).
