Cathedral to host Life in the Spirit Seminar
PROVIDENCE — A Life in the Spirit Seminar will be held at the Cathedral of Saints Peter & Paul, 30 Fenner St. Hosted by Msgr. Anthony Mancini along with Diane Costantino, this seven-week course will take place on Wednesday evenings untilNovember 10, from 7 – 8:30 p.m. No registration is required and books are provided, as well as security and parking. St. Francis of Assisi Church to host a pasta dinner
WAKEFIELD — St. Francis of Assisi Church will host a pasta dinner on Friday, Oct. 1. The dinner will be held in Father Greenan Hall, 114 High St., from 5 – 7:30 p.m. Tickets for the dinner will be sold at the door. The event will feature many themed baskets and the St. Francis Grand Raffle.
Blessing of Pets
NORTH PROVIDENCE — Mary, Mother of Mankind Church, 25 Fourth Street, will host a blessing all the pets in honor of the Feast of St. Francis of Assisi, patron saint of animals, on Saturday, Oct. 2 at 1 p.m., in the church parking lot. For more information, call the rectory at 401-231-3542.
Celebrate the Feast of St. Thérèse of Lisieux
HARRISVILLE — On Friday, Oct. 1, the Shrine of the Little Flower will celebrate the Feast of St. Thérèse of Lisieux. The evening begins at 3 p.m. with the Way of the Cross followed by Vespers for St. Thérèse. At 4:45 p.m., there will be a light supper followed by a procession around the church at 5:30 p.m. Holy Mass will be celebrated at 6 p.m. Pilgrims are invited to join for some or all of these devotions. Feast of St. Francis of Assisi Events at St. Patrick's Church
PROVIDENCE — St. Clare of Assisi Secular Franciscan Fraternity, will host the Blessing of the Animals on Saturday, Oct. 2, at 10 a.m., at St. Patrick's Church, Smith Street. All pets are welcome to come and receive an individual Franciscan blessing. Cats must be in carriers and dogs leashed. On Sunday, Oct. 2, at 7 p.m., the Transitus, commemorating the passing of St. Francis of Assisi from his earthly life to eternal glory will be celebrated, joining Franciscans around the world in prayer and song. Refreshments will be served. Diocese to host Rosary Congress
PROVIDENCE — All are invited to participate in the upcoming second annual Rosary Congress taking place throughout the Diocese of Providence October 2 – 8. The Rosary Congress will consist of 7 days/nights of perpetual Eucharistic Adoration, the recitation of the Holy Rosary and Chaplet of Divine Mercy. Locally, seven parishes in the diocese will host one day of Eucharistic Adoration each. Please consider spending an hour with our Lord. Providence College’s 2021 Randall Lecture
PROVIDENCE —Providence College’s 2021 Randall Lecture will take place at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 7, in the Aquinas Lounge. Paul Cotino, the 2021-22 Rev. Robert Randall Distinguished Professor in Christian Culture at Providence College, will deliver a lecture entitled “God’s Providence and Incarnational Realism: A Reading of Dostoevsky’s The Brothers Karamazov.” This event is free and open to the public. Please arrive with ample time to check-in. The College COVID-19 policy requires all guest to be fully vaccinated to attend. Guests will need to show vaccination card and picture id for admittance to the lecture. All guests must wear a mask in campus buildings.

St. Philip to host Holy Hour for the Unborn
GREENVILLE — The Respect Life Ministry at Saint Philip Church will host a Holy Hour for the unborn, on Thursday, Oct. 14, 7 p.m., at Saint Philip Parish, 622 Putnam Pike Greenville. Public Square Rosary to take place in Arctic
WEST WARWICK — All are invited to join in a Public Square Rosary on Saturday, Oct. 16, at noon, rain or shine, at the Majestic Gazebo in Arctic. This Public Square Rosary, sponsored by the America Needs Fatima organization in conjunction with the Legion of Mary of St. Anthony Parish, will be one of over 20,000 rallies that will take place all across the United States.
