Sweet Spirit of Christmas
BRISTOL —The 14th Annual Sweet Spirit of Christmas, sponsored by the Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church Rosary/Altar Society will be held on Saturday, Dec. 10, 4 – 6 p.m.; and Sunday, Dec.11, 8 a.m. - noon, in the Monsignor Lolio Parish Center. The event will feature homemade assorted cookies, holiday candies and more.
Bristol County Chorus to perform at St. Mary’s Church
BRISTOL — The Bristol County Chorus will present their 41st annual Christmas concert on Sunday, Dec. 11, at St. Mary's Church, 330 Wood St., 3 p.m. The Chorus, accompanied by a professional chamber orchestra, will be conducted by Director of Music Nicholas Rocha. Presenting, “Do You Hear What I Hear?” the program features festive, colorful holiday music, including excerpts from Handel’s “Messiah,” and Dan Forrest’s arrangement of “The Huron Carol.” Masks are not required for the event, but are recommended; the chorus will not be masked. Tickets are available locally at the George Hail Library in Warren, at Paper Packaging and Panache in Bristol, and online through brownpapertickets.com. West Bay Chorale presents ‘The Gift’
WARWICK — The West Bay Chorale will present their holiday concert on Sunday, Dec. 11, at 6:30 p.m., at St. Kevin Church. A dramatic reading of “The Other Magi” by Henry van Dyke will be part of the concert. The music includes three new arrangements of traditional carols by composer Dan Forrest, poetry, the singing of traditional carols and more. Knights to hold breakfast

Free Petting Zoo at the Manger
NARRAGANSETT — All are welcome to visit the free Petting Zoo at the Manger at St. Veronica Chapel on Sunday, December 11, from 9:30 a.m. - 12:30 p.m. Bring the children and enjoy hot chocolate and meet the animals at the outdoor manger. Sounds of the Season
PROVIDENCE — “The Sounds of the Season,” which will benefit Bishop Thomas J. Tobin’s “Keep the Heat On” challenge, will take place on Sunday, Dec. 11, 3 p.m., in the Cathedral of Saints Peter and Paul. The concert will feature the Gregorian Concert Choir and Orchestra, led by Monsignor Anthony Mancini, conductor and Philip Faraone, organist. Diocesan celebration of Our Lady of Guadalupe
PROVIDENCE — The diocesan celebration in honor of Our Lady of Guadalupe will take place at the Cathedral of SS. Peter and Paul on Monday, Dec. 12, beginning with 5 p.m. confessions, prayer of the Rosary, “Serenata” with the diocesan choir; 7 p.m. solemn bilingual Mass with Auxiliary Bishop Robert Evans, accompanied by priests and deacons who serve in the diocese. Music will be provided by the Spanish diocesan choir and the Mariachi of Veronica Robles. This event is organized by the Multicultural Ministry and the diocesan Guadalupe Committee. All are welcome.
Take-Out Thursday to benefit Holy Angels Social Outreach Ministry
BARRINGTON — The original Take-Out Thursday, a charity food sale and popular East Bay attraction, will return to Holy Angels Church on December 15. A carryout menu offering options of Italian spinach pies, creamy stovetop polenta, and a chicken-spaghetti special will be available. Ordering is open for a limited time, while supplies last, and proceeds will benefit the efforts of the Holy Angels Social Outreach Ministry, whose mission is to provide for those in need. Christmas Concert at St. Kevin
WARWICK — The annual Christmas Concert at St. Kevin Church, 333 Sandy Lane, will take place Friday Dec. 16 at 7 p.m., and feature the combined adult choirs of St. Kevin, St. Rita, and St. Timothy churches, the St. Kevin’s children’s choir, Bishop Hendricken Young Men’s Chorus, soloists, a surprise or two, and Santa. Admission is free.
‘Roses in Winter’ brings story of Our Lady of Guadalupe to the stage
EAST PROVIDENCE — The Sacred Heart Players of East Providence will present an original play, “Roses in Winter,” inspired by Our Lady of Guadalupe, on Saturday, Dec. 17, at 6 p.m., in the church hall, 118 Taunton Ave.
St. Joseph Parish to host Christmas Concert
WOONSOCKET — On Sunday, Dec. 18, 3 p.m., St. Joseph Parish, 1200 Mendon Road, will present a Christmas Concert featuring soloists, a quartet, the choir as well as special guests the Providence Youth Guitar Ensemble. This event is free and open to the public.
A Holy Mass for Life In Thanksgiving for the overturn of Roe v. Wade
PROVIDENCE — The diocesan Office of Life and Family Ministry will sponsor a Holy Mass for Life, in Thanksgiving for the overturning of Roe v. Wade, on Saturday, Jan. 21, 2023 at 9 a.m. in the Cathedral of Saints Peter and Paul. Bishop Thomas J. Tobin, will be the main celebrant and Father J. Joseph Brice, will be the homilist. The Visitation of the Missionary Image of Our Lady of Guadalupe
PROVIDENCE — The Missionary Image of Our Lady of Guadalupe will be visiting the diocese in various parishes throughout Rhode Island from Saturday, Jan. 7, through Sunday, Feb. 5, 2023. The image is an exact replica of the original image of Our Lady which She left on the Tilma of St. Juan Diego in December 1531. The Missionary Images are known to have been associated with many miracles and healings.
