Annual Our Lady of Guadalupe Mass cancelled, online novena being celebrated instead
PROVIDENCE — While this year’s Mass at the Cathedral of SS. Peter and Paul has been cancelled due to COVID-19, the faithful are invited to join the Novena, being celebrated online through Dec. 12, by visiting facebook.com/OCPmusica.
Annual Youth Awards Celebration cancelled
PROVIDENCE — There will be no annual Youth Awards Celebration in March at the Cathedral of SS. Peter and Paul due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Parishes and schools are encouraged to nominate for recognition youth and adults who are exemplary models of Catholic faith witnessed by service to others. Any youth or adult chosen by the Review Committee as meeting the criteria will receive their award on the local level presented by their pastor, or his designee, accompanied by a personal letter to the recipient from Bishop Tobin. As determined by the bishop, each parish will have the opportunity to nominate one youth and one adult for the St. Timothy Youth and Companions on the Journey Adult Awards. A diocesan Awards Review Committee will review all nominations and select one youth and one adult from each deanery who meet the criteria. Knights Blood Drive
EAST PROVIDENCE — The East Providence Knights of Columbus, Council 1528, in cooperation with the Rhode Island Blood Center is once again hosting a blood drive on Sunday, January 24, 2020 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Columbus Club Hall at 3200 Pawtucket Ave. Each donation can save three lives! Due to the pandemic restrictions and guidelines, appointments are necessary this year.
