Middle school students from Father John V. Doyle School, in Coventry, recently had an exciting visit from Dr. Heimer-McGinn and her team from Brain Waves Rhode Island. Students learned about the anatomy of the human brain and how it functions. The students were also able to touch a previously living human brain and build neurons to demonstrate how neurotransmitters are sent through neurons.
