The Quiet Corner celebrates Church tradition through its careful research

TO THE EDITOR:

While calls for the publication of “The Best of The Quiet Corner” are flattering, a book of six pages would not merit much attention. When the final review of The Quiet Corner is published, it will surely note that I was a great lover of tradition which is simply a kind way of saying that I never had an original thought in my life. Believe me, there are no observations in The Quiet Corner that have not already been published. While I have never appropriated another author’s printed words, I am in regular debt to other authors’ stated ideas. Research, not insight, is my greatest resource.
