The Season of Giving and Christmas Spirit

The St. Augustine School Student Council, Providence, led by mentor teacher Toni Scaramuzzo, worked on a school-wide giving project throughout the weeks of Advent. The giving activities include making sandwiches for the homeless that were distributed to the Saint Patrick’s food mission; creating Christmas cards for the elderly; making baskets for families in St. Augustine Parish; and collecting $400 in gift certificate donations. La Salle Academy held their inaugural Christmas Celebration welcoming more than 250 people to the Providence campus for caroling, hot cocoa and Christmas cheer.

 St. Thomas More Church planned a free Petting Zoo at the Manger at St. Veronica Chapel in Narragansett. Children and their families stopped by to visit the animals at the outdoor manger and to enjoy hot chocolate.

The parish community of St. Francis de Sales in North Kingstown recently donated 635 unwrapped toys to be gifted to local children through the Children’s Friend program this Christmas.
