St. Luke’s School in Barrington recently announced the winners of the first annual William and Mary Oh Academic Excellence Award. The award was made possible through the generosity of Barrington residents and long-time St. Luke’s parishioners, Drs. William and Mary Oh. William was given the opportunity to benefit from a Catholic education through the generosity of a benefactor when growing up in the Philippines and wanted to pay it forward. The award will be given annually to a rising sixth, seventh and eighth grader. The award is given to the student with the highest GPA for the year in their core courses. In addition, the winner must maintain an average of 90 or better in Spanish, art, music, physical education and health. This year’s recipients received a $500 scholarship toward their 2018-2019 tuition. The winners are from left to right, Mia Biagetti, Genevieve Geiser and Sofia Bergeron.
