BRIDGEWATER, N.J. — Yvonne (Haggar) Colabella passed away on Wednesday, January 6, 2021, in Bridgewater, New Jersey, where she had been living at Brandywine Assisted Living since August 2018. She is survived by her son Mark and his wife Martha (White) Colabella; her daughter Renee Chorun; her younger brother, the Rt. Rev. Exarch Joseph Haggar, Pastor Emeritus of Saint Basil the Great Church of Lincoln, R.I.; and her four grandchildren. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Colabella was truly gifted with intellect and organizational skills that she applied at her work at N.Y. Law School, GE Headquarters, and Adelphi University. She will be fondly remembered for her exquisite taste, love of dancing, fine dining and travel, but most importantly, for the love of her family and friends. And of course, she loved God, who made it all possible.
Her funeral was celebrated at St. Catherine of Sienna Church in Franklin Square, followed by her burial at the Cemetery of the Holy Rood in Westbury, N.Y. In lieu of flowers, donations to Saint Basil The Great Church Building Fund, 111 Cross Street, Central Falls, RI, 02863, in memory of Yvonne, would be greatly appreciated.
